Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've planned ahead. Follow these handy travel tips that will get your Marre holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you've got all the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare set of clothes and a good book. Next, find a spot in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between airlines, the general rule to follow is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, pocket knives, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like hockey sticks, and objects that could harm passengers, such as swords and guns, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by wearing layers, and pick slightly roomy, flat shoes like sneakers.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and keep your legs and feet moving.
