We’ve got the lowdown on how to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our insider tips and you’ll be speeding through the airport and enjoying Poptun before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, put in your passport, important documents, cash and medications. Next, you’ll want some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy novel and a phone crammed with your favorite movies are some fantastic options. If you plan to take a short snooze, a comfy neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you’ll touchdown looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and strong acids, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as possible. Don layers of natural-fiber clothing and don’t forget to pack a jacket just in case you get cold. Always go with flat, slightly roomy shoes as it’s possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-haul flights is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression socks and tights are another great idea to help reduce this risk.
