Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will get your Pyrsogianni escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a comfortable experience if you pack the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, find room in your bag for your phone and charger, medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and strong acids, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Choose easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to take a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
