No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've prepared well enough. Take a peek at these top travel tips that will get your Robson vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be easy if you take the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any vital medications and maybe a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to feel as comfortable as you can. Don layers of natural-fiber clothing and remember to pack a pullover in case you get cold. Pick a pair of flat, well-fitting shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the flight. Leave the high heels and chunky boots in your checked baggage.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long flights is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are another easy way to help minimize this risk.
