We've rounded up all the info you need to make your journey as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be speeding through the airport and seeing the best of Sewstern before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you bring the right things. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a few magazines. Next, leave space in your bag for your phone and charger, any medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your priority when choosing what to wear during your flight. Loose clothing is a wise choice, as are roomy, closed-toe shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
