No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you prepare well enough. Follow these handy hints that will get your Winschoten holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a pleasure if you carry the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any vital medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, remember to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and poisons, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and go for shoes that are flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
