Pontorno is a cozy apartment for rent in Florence located in the lovely Piazza dei Rossi just a few steps from Ponte Vecchio (about 100 meters away). Good location, host was good. Place is noisy but that’s what you get in that area I guess. Also had a bit of an odd smell. We unfortunately had a delay out of our control that forced us to come in a day late to our reservation, I contacted the host and they were unable to get us money back. I believe it was a non refundable reservation, so it’s understandable, but just know they will not go above and beyond to satisfy their guest during their stay. Overall ok but i’d say look for somewhere better at this price point.

Great Location

This apartment was perfect for a 3 night visit in Florence with a friend. Everything is so walkable that even being on the south side of the Arno River wasn’t a problem for seeing the main sights in Florence. There are some great restaurants and a gelateria steps away from the door. Check-in was smooth, and the communication was helpful and timely. The only downside is that Friday and Saturday nights are lively in the piazza below, which means the noise makes it hard to sleep, but it’s perfect if you enjoy getting out on weekends and joining in.

Apartment has potential

This apartment is in a GREAT location-lots of restaurants, near a large grocery and walkable to all you want to see in Florence. It is on the first floor (second floor for Americans) and loud with bars, restaurants, people walking by and motorcycles. We stayed in October and all the windows were closed and still noisy. The kitchen didn't have any towels (cloth or paper) and no napkins so we had to use a small bath towel until we bought a roll of paper towels. Not a big deal but inconvenient and I expect more from a VRBO. No directions on how to use stove (gas must be switched on) and washer (water valve needed to be opened) but host provided information via texts so got it all working. Suggested a binder with how to work everything for the next guests. We left for about 2 hours in the evening and came back to a large puddle of water in the living space. Not sure where it came from as windows were closed. Mopped it up and told host. They suggested it might have come from the old roof because there had been rain. Overall, this place could be great if it was given some love but for now just okay.

Frio y sin ayuda del propietario

Éramos 3 adultos. Es un primero sin ascensor. La estancia es como máximo para 3 personas ya que la habitación pequeña es minúscula. Está en general con falta de mantenimiento. Te dicen que hay secador de pelo pero no entra en los enchufes, igual sucede con la plancha. Si pones la lavadora, al colgarla en el tendedero te deja ya sin espacio para el salón o la cocina ya que las estancias son pequeñas. Los días que estuvimos en septiembre hizo frío, los mini edredones que hay son muy sucios, finos y pequeños, hacía frío y pedimos encender la calefacción y se negaron porque decían que lo prohibía la ley hasta noviembre, entonces pedí alguna manta y se negaron también. Así que no aconsejo ir en octubre ya que se morirán de frío. De hecho acabamos todos resfriados. Tampoco tiene aire acondicionado para el verano. Sólo tres ventiladores con aspecto bastante malo. Así que en verano tampoco aconsejo la estancia. Sólo destaco la ubicación.

This property should not be rented in summer- it is too hot without air conditioning and mosquitoes from the nearby river prevent leaving windows open at night.

Great Location

This was the perfect place! Great location 1 block from Ponte Vecchio bridge. Beautiful courtyard in front of building. Charming church right next door.
