Florence - Lungarno del Tempio

Great spot in downtown Florence! Plenty of room for three couples to spend together and bedrooms were large enough to feel comfortable. Walk out door and one could walk anywhere to explore the sights and heart of Florence.

I’d give this place 10 stars for the house, the property manager and cleanliness but we started our trip off horribly upon arrival. We loved everything about our trip but arrived after the office closed and had no where to go the first night of our stay. We were visiting my daughter who is studying abroad (in a tiny apartment with 8 roommates) so luckily my family of six, after traveling for two days slept on her floor the first night. We were literally stuck in another country with no where to go until 10:30 at night. That isn’t ok and we were very scared! Everything was closed and no one answered our calls. We were finally let in the house around 1:00PM the next day so we were all aggravated and tired! So make sure you communicate constantly while traveling on a plane with no WiFi the day of check in. My only complain is that the owner doesn’t ever communicate with you and will leave you out in the cold if you can’t arrive during office hours. We never talked to them and still haven’t. The house was perfect, the property manager was great and we really loved everything about the house! It is beautiful, clean and the location was excellent. I read in other reviews that there was a leak in the bathroom and it was still there during our trip. Not a big deal…I loved this house so much but keeping us out the first night was really careless. I would have been really freaked out if I had smaller children or wasn’t with my husband and older kids! House great but checkin not!

Best location!

Spent 5 nights in this great property. Very convenient to a local grocery store and nice cafe. The terrace in the mornings and evenings was the best. I'd stay here again!

Great location - needs many repairs

Great locations- however, cleaning was not well done. drier did not work and sink in one of the bedrooms was leaking. Getting in touch with property manager was extremely difficult and not reliable. Seemed very overpriced even with awesome location and good space….. Only one key provided so very easy to get locked out. For the money I would look at alternatives .

Beautiful

We stayed only two nights and if I go back to this area I will stay here again. It’s a stylish, well kept and beautiful place. There were a couple of tiny downfalls - our gps did not take us to the correct address but a text to our contact person was quickly answered and she led us the few blocks we were off. The second is the elevator…it’s super tiny. One person one suitcase at a time. I understand this is somewhat typical tho but if you’re super worn out like we were… it was an extra 20 minutes to get everyone upstairs with luggage.. Quality place for the price and it’s super spacious!!

Uninhabitable in Summer

The aircon in this apartment is totally inadequate for a hot Italian Summer and the property manager, Sweetstay, is next to useless in helping with this or any other request. During our stay it was 39 degrees celsius outside and an unbearable 30 degrees inside the apartment in the living area (which is the "coolest" part). This is despite all rooms being set to cool, with the fan on full speed and set to the minimum temp if 19. My portable "pinguino" at home in London does a far better job. We reported the issue almost immediately after check-in and repeatedly chased but nothing was ever done about it during our 6 day stay. The impact was that nobody slept well at all (including several elderly family members) and we didn't use the roof terrace anywhere near as much as we would've liked as the apartment provided no refuge to the heat. We had to resort to taking cold showers to make the stay bearable. We only managed to cool the interior a few degrees by opening the shutters in the cooler mornings, but opening at night was not an option as you would then be infested with mosquitoes (there are no insect screens on the windows nor netting over the beds) and the main road which two of the bedrooms face is very noisy until the early hours. It doesn't matter how nice inside or spacious or well situated the apartment is when it's unbearably warm to live in. The stay was a massive waste of money in my eyes and spoiled my wife's 40th birthday trip.

Fantastic Apartment!

Pictures do not do it justice! It was larger than it appeared! Beds were very comfortable, outdoor terrace was amazing place for wine and to relax. Supermarket is right next door as is an excellent coffee shop. Walking distance to many great restaurants and sights. Elevator was convenient for those unable to use the stairs and to get luggage up and down. Can’t wait to go back!

Charming, but not as safe as we would have liked

The apartment was as advertised, and we were pleased. There is an unidentified growling sound behind the kitchen wall that sounds as if all of Italy’s gremlins have been sequestered, but we ate out most of the time. We had the same TV remote control issues as the others who stayed here. The location is excellent and the proximity to a convenience store is very handy. The air conditioning worked, and was helpful at keeping down the mosquito population. Florentine mosquitos are aggressive and evasive. But our issue was safety The Internet was out for 3 consecutive days, and we had no way to summon help in the event of a medical emergency. Repeated calls to management were unheeded for 3 days, when someone finally came and communicated in Italian with the Internet Provider. We had no cell service in the apartment and the phone just buzzed the front door. I am not inclined to play Russian Roulette with the health and safety of my family, and for some medical issues, seconds make the difference. To be fair, the owner offered a small refund to compensate for this deficiency. We were told it was a “street issue” with the Internet Provider, but a quick check with the neighbors quickly led us to believe it was unique to our system. The bathtub, which was an important feature for us, was unusable due to a faulty drain. This was not remediated during our stay, either. Florence is a medieval city, and has its share of utility issues, which we understand. Given the safety component, we would have very much preferred a more timely fix. Once someone showed up, it was but 30 minutes to remedy. We wish it hadn’t been 3 days. Caveat Emptor. We are frequent VRBO users, and this was our first experience of this type.

3 Couples 3 Great Nights in Florence

Considering its winter in Florence, we had very comfortable weather. We were able to enjoy the large terrace most days. Simply put, this apartment is very large, very well decorated and appointed. The location is perfect - 5-10 minute walk to the Uffizi, Ponte de Vecchio and the Duomo. Next door is a grocery store with fresh baked goods, deli and liquor supplies. Surrounding area has lots of good restaurants and shopping. We loved our visit to Florence and would definitely recommend this property.
