Little gem in the Belgian Ardennes

Lovely small hotel with great food - makes a perfect hub for walks, cycle rides or just exploring locally.

Nice inn with excellent restaurant

We stayed at this inn because of its location 10 miles from the Orval Abbey, where there aren’t many choices. The proprietors were very welcoming and the room, while basic, was clean and comfortable. They have a lovely restaurant that serves fine cuisine. It was a bit of a challenge since they do not speak English and I am a vegetarian, but with the help of google translate, we managed. My husband had a fish dish that he enjoyed, and I had a bowl of pasta with cream sauce and delicate vegetables. It was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had, and it wasn’t even on their menu! The inn has a few nice dogs and a pretty garden with a stream. Definitely stay here if you are planning a trip through this part of Belgium!

Little Gem

Excellent hôtel for the area, plenty of walks nearby, other clients describe it as dated but it's more a charming mix of shabby-chic. Everyone is welcoming Try the Godefroid de Bouillon beer!

Beautiful hotel but:

No extra power outlets in room. We unplugged TV and a lamp so we could charge computer and camera. Shower temp fluctuated from too hot to too cold sometimes the right temperature. Excellent food though dinner on first night included overcooked verges. Lousy lighting but that's to be expected. Beautiful hotel with garden, very nice room.

Original hotel

We stayed at this hotel as it was close to an event we were attending, the hotel was very quiet at night, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. It would have been nice to have decent lighting though especially in the bathroom and on the landing. We ate in the hotel on the first night as it was convenient but were not happy as I have never seen such a complicated way of setting out the meal of the day, we could not have the cheaper one as this is not served at weekends and had to have a 4 course menu with no choice and strangely consisted of two entrees, this was definitly poor value for what we paid and we did not eat here again during the following five days of our stay. . I probably would not stay here again although it is in a nice situation.
