「When we arrived at the Copper and Lumber store they had double booked our room for 2 or the 5 nights. When we explained we hadn't heard from neither them or expedia and in fact had a check in reminder they offered nothing advising we had to find alternate accommodation. We spent over 5+ hours going between the hotel and expedia as neither party wanted to take ownership/payment of any new accomodation options for us even though they had the $2500 from my existing reservation. A short walk (500 yards) up a steep hill from the main strip in English Harbour provides amazing views of Nelson’s dockyard near enough to walk to all the restaurants and far enough away from the noise of the nightclubs so the only sound at night are the tree frogs chirping. Annie and Roger are super friendly, helpful and welcoming. 10/10 for staff. Simple but delicious breakfast served on the large terrace overlooking the sea completes the peaceful charm of this colonial style...

「We stayed in a very clean and quaint one bedroom, #12 which is upstairs. Met a few others there who were very nice. Two bottles of cold water, one of wine with flowers to greet us. All you would need to prepare heated meals, very nice refrigerator and everything any hotel provides, all done very nicely. Security is provided with fence and electronic gate opener. 「Away from the crowds 」

「The staff were all very nice and welcoming and helpful. As for the room it looked like it had seen better days. The bathroom had cracked tiles and there was zero water pressure in the shower and at one point the water turned off all together. There was one single desk chair in the room and we had to bring in the balcony chairs inside just to have somewhere to sit down. I’m sure this room used to be nice when the hotel was first build but it looks like they haven’t done any refreshing or updating...

「location was hard to find as you have to use the location given in Expedia. Place was in a nice quiet location. Areas of improvement: sink water was running very very very slowly. Need sink replaced. Toilet would run more often on the second/third day and having to manually hold the stopper down was too much. WiFi was spotty which could have been due to the location. 「This hotel was amazing. Nestled on a hill between two beaches, the setting and views are stunning. We decided to spend all of our time here as we needed to recharge and it was pure paradise. We spend the early day at Jolly Harbour beach and watched the sunset every day at Valley Church beach. The food was amazing. The staff were lovely. They were quick to respond with anything we needed. George was super friendly and helped us on several occasions. Highly recommend this little Paradise. 」
