The lovely beach at Aberdour is a short drive away and Killykan Bay and Pennen are within easy reach; here you can have a picnic then spend some time exploring St Drostan’s Well. Enjoy days discovering the small coastal villages of Crovie and Gardenstown, with their dramatic and ever changing landscapes. Family fun can be had in Macduff and Banff, approximately 11 miles away, where Duff House, The Spotty Bag shop and Macduff Aquarium can all be found. Auchmedden Cottage is also brilliantly placed for golf, with many courses being found nearby. In the opposite direction, Fraserburgh has plenty of cafés and parks to keep you busy. It is also home to the Museum of Scottish Lighthouses, which is certainly worth a visit. If you are a keen bird watcher, then the RSPB Troup Head is 4 miles from the cottage.
