Perfect Coastal Retreat!

My husband and I enjoyed our weekend at Mutiny Bay. The cabin is small but perfectly appointed. Our favorite part was the location! The easy walk down to the beach was great, and we were lucky enough to find dozens of sand dollars while we strolled along the windswept coastline. Thank you for sharing your getaway spot with us!

Weekend on Whidby Island

My brother and I shared this lovely cabin while we were on the Island for a wedding. It was amazing sitting out on the cabin porch drinking coffee in the mornings looking out at the water, watching the clouds dissipate and the view of the mountains reveal themselves. The cabin was simple with two bedrooms and a perfect place to land when we weren't exploring other parts of the Island. The communication with the rental property was excellent and they let us know that the cabin was ready before the official move in time. A great spot.

The DVD player wasn’t working and the sheets / blankets could use an upgrade along with the coffee maker, but otherwise this is a great place to stay.

Cozy Cabin

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a cozy small cabin that looks like it was built in the 50s. The windows were single pane and let in a lot of cold, but the fireplace warmed things up, so that was not such a big deal. The fireplace was especially appealing since we stayed here in December and the weather was very cold and snowy. We loved that the beach was accessible by means of a trail directly in front of the cabin. That being said, this would be more of a summertime cabin, since you could spend more time outside on the nice porch and not in the tiny living room. There was a definite smell of mildew in the house, which made it a little less appealing to spend a lot of time inside. The kitchen could have been better equipped...there was minimal cooking utensils and pans and no matches or lighter to light a fire in the woodstove.

Lovely outlook and secluded shoreline

Beautifully situated but kitchen outfit and entrance lock need attention. It would be a good idea for the owners to stay for a week, which would probably sort things out.

The only compaint I have is the toilet needs to be able to flush better, it took a few times to get it to work properly. Also, it would have been nice to have the outdoor furniture clean and the deck swept.

Beautiful Escape with Amazing Sunsets

This is a wonderful and fun place to get away, watch beautiful sunsets, and escape the regular world. There was excellent internet service, a small fireplace/wood stove, hot running water, a kitchen, and large washer and dryer. While we were there we saw a doe with her young. They were very used to people. We bought a deer whistle at the ACE hardware store in town to ensure we didn't accidentally hurt one of these majestic creatures.

Cute Cabin

Older cabin with some charm. Sleeps 2 couples privately. Mattresses could use a topper for comfort. We rented with the big house next door for more room so we didn’t use the kitchen in the little house. View would be even more spectacular with a little tree trimming. The path to the water was not exactly easy, but once on the beach, the view was even better. Bring binoculars for more viewing fun. P.S. both the big cabin and the little one would be fabulous with a little updating and decorating.

For two people it was fine but for four adults it was tight ( only 3 chairs around the table- we had to bring a fourth in from the deck). It needs updates, badly. I'd start with the beds and deck repair, a new TV and better seating. Did I mention the killer view? I'd stay again.

Although it was fine for a night, I wouldn't recommend it for a longer vacation. The cabin can only comfortably sleep four very close people. The pullout couch isn't ideal since it is in the only open space in the cabin, and right in front of the porch, kitchen and bathroom.

Magical Place

We walked on Saturday morning around towards Double Bluff and then spent the afternoon having lunch and watching the water and the weather in our beach chairs. What a fantastic beach, and a great view. We loved watching the shipping lanes and talking to the local people who were fishing for salmon. had a fantastic time and no one was home at either of the houses next to the rental so it was very quiet. We noticed one or two cleaning items missing in the kitchen, and when we mentioned them to Karen, the manager, she was very receptive and welcomed our feedback. Karen was also very prompt, cheerful, and responsive to our last minute rental request. Thank you again ---we are still dreaming of our day on the beach.

Cozy Cabin

The cabin had everything we needed, except maybe some additional charcoal for the grill. The deck was nice but "slightly tired" and in need of some repair. The deck chairs could have been more comfortable as well since we spent most of our time enjoying the views of cruise ships, tug and barges and sailboats. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much, the management company was very good, and would do it again based on the value for what we got.

Good Location, Clean but Needs Attention

Reviewer Comments: We rented this cabin for two couples as overflow space for a nearby family gathering. There were no window screens and we had hot weather, so bugs and moths getting in the house at night was a problem. It was way too hot to sleep with all the windows closed. The shower valve is installed in reverse, so turning on hot water resulted in cold water, and cold water resulted in hot water. This is a liability for the owners, as someone could be scalded. Also, the valve in the shower did not work until we used a butter knife to pop the cap off and tighten it ourselves - otherwise we would not have been able to use it at all. It would be nice if the cabin had a few basic tools available to fix such things if the cabin isn't going to be well maintained by the owners or the property manager (like a screwdriver, hammer and wrench). The pillows on the beds were awful - bring your own. And only one of the two beds was even close to comfortable. This is a cute cabin in a good location that could be much more desirable if it was better maintained. It was clean and cozy.
