  • The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone offers different dramatic looks and moods dependent on the time of day. The falls are luminous in the morning. In the evening when this photo was taken, the canyon takes on a soft, almost painterly light. If you can, make a visit right after sunrise and return for the sunset.

  • We visited this location but ideally needed to be there in the afternoon as the sun was on the "wrong" side of the arch. I used a wide lens to capture the arch and didn't attempt to correct the distortion as I felt it added to the picture (for me anyway). It took a long time to get this without hoardes of people in the shot.

What a treat to be able to stay here. The host was extremely friendly and accomodating -We were able to upgrade our room for the river view - 100% worth it. Charcoal bbq's available to use and a deck overlooking the river was a great addition! Kitchen had all the necessities to make a delicious anniversary dinner! We will definitely be visiting again.
