Amazing unique property with incredible views. Absolutely loved the hydrangeas! It suited our group of 10 adults and there was good space for parking two vehicles including a van. Some nooks and crannies could have been cleaner and our only suggestion is screens on windows would be helpful.

Amazing views in the Basque Country

Our family (6 adults and 1 child) stayed for three nights in April 2025. Hosts greeted us and house was just as beautiful in person. The fact that almost each bedroom had its own bathroom was amazing for our group. We spent the night exploring the adorable town and made easy day trips to San Sebastián and Bilbao. Our needs while there were immediately met and hosts were very quick to respond to any questions. Would absolutely recommend. We stayed in two hotels and one other house during our two week trip and this was everyone’s favorite.

Excellent stay - great for groups - beautiful views

The entire experience was absolutely fantastic. We had such a great time, and were only sorry that we hadn't been able to book more time here. The house is wonderfully laid out, especially for larger groups or if you had multiple families. Every amenity you might need. The views are amazing. We even walked down into Getaria one afternoon (the walk back up would be a hike, but doable! Best not done in the dark though). All in all, fantastic on every level. Would absolutely recommend.

Amazing month

We arrived very late (23:00) a few days before Christmas to be warmly greeted by Neal and Amaia who live next door. They both helped getting us get settled...Neal brought in all our very heavy bags. The house was stocked with delicious Christmas goodies as well as coffee and some wine. We asked about where we might purchase a small Christmas tree...at noon the next day they brought us a fully decorated tree, lights and all. And that was just the start of their incredible hospitality. The house is truly amazing, super clean and very nicely decorated. Kitchen is well equipped with lots of dishes etc. For a portion of our stay we invited family....9 of us total, there would have been ample room for more. during our stay we celebrated Mollie’s birthday. Neal and Amelia helped arrange a wonderful celebration diner at their favorite restaurant in Getaria(awesome village). They even personally went to San Sebastián and filled like a hundred balloons to decorate the restaurant. They also assisted us with various reservations, and lots of “what to do” tips. We cannot fully express our gratitude in this short review. Our stay was amazing. We will be back.

Beautiful home and area!

We absolutely loved our stay in Getaria. The house is more beautiful than the photos. The town is adorable and we loved walking through the hills. Wish we could have stayed much longer to enjoy the home and everything the area has to offer!

A beautiful place to stay

This was a lovely place to stay with plenty of room. It has a well equipped kitchen. The views are simply stunning. Short drive or pleasant walk to the fabulous town of Getaria. Hosts are very welcoming and very responsive. Highly recommend.

Absolutely Beautiful Home!

This was the best rental house I have ever stayed in. The view was magnificent. The house was extremely clean. Everything we needed was already there included toilet paper, coffee, laundry and dish washing detergent and more. Upon arrival the owners arranged for a private chef to cook us dinner in the home. It was amazing and one of the best beef dinners we have ever had! This was so convenient since we arrived at 8pm. We were a group of 11 people and thorougly enjoyed the home cooked meal. We spent one full day in the South of France, one day in San Sebastian which included a great Pintxo tour. The 3rd day was spent in Bilbao visiting the museum, cable car amoung other things. Food in the area was out of this world!! Streets were clean! Although we had two in our group that spooke Snanich, so many people in Span were able to speak clear English. When we go back to N Spain, we will definitely come back!!

Wonderful family trip

Family of 9 had a wonderful stay at this well appointed, beautiful home w amazing vistas. Close to France and San Sebastián and great for day trips. Hosts were helpful in providing lists of favorite restaurants. We would happily rent again from our gracious hosts.

Marvelous property with a stunning view of the ocean, and excellent service!!!

September 18, 2018 We had a wonderful week in the Basque region, thanks to this marvelous property with a stunning view of the ocean around Getaria! The house is appointed with great taste (decoration, furniture, linen, kitchen, lawn furniture, etc), is roomy, and the beds are very comfortable! Each couple (3) had his own private bathroom, and the common areas (upstairs and downstairs) are spacious with gorgeous views, especially from the balcony where we had breakfast and lunch on several occasions. The house is located next to the famous Camino De Santiago trail with access to spectacular trekking, and is only a 10 minutes drive from Getaria, which offers excellent choices of dinning experiences, hosts the fascinating Balenciaga Museum, and has a very charming atmosphere! From Getaria, we were able to explore the Spanish Basque Country (to and from San Sebastian and Bilbao), and we drove to Biarritz on the French Basque Country side. All very easy driving distances (an hour or so)! We are very grateful to Amaia (property owner) for her warm welcome and for her efficient assistance in scheduling for us a delicious private "Basque" dinner at the house prepared by a local chef, as well as for arranging a wine and tasting tour of a local winery nearby (walking distance)! Thanks Amaia and Aberri for opening your house, and for making our Basque Country experience a very memorable one!

Fantastic holiday experience

We booked this Villa for a surprise holiday for my Wife's 70th Birthday with our family of 7, aged from 30 to 74.. We chose this Villa because it ticked all the boxes with a great location, plenty of bedrooms some with ensuite bathrooms. The Villa was very well equipped, kitchen, dining area, lounges were brilliant and very comfortable. Views over the Bay of Biscay from the balcony are superb. The owners had provided plenty of local information on Getaria & the nearby town of Zarautz with details of places to shop & eat. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their holiday at the villa Amaia & her family were very welcoming and incredibly helpful during our stay. A special thank you to Amaia for all your help Highly recommended!

Stunning!

We recently stayed in this beautiful house on our trip to Spain, between visiting Barcelona and Madrid. The pictures do not do justice to this lovely spot. Our hosts, Amaia and Mark made sure that we had everything we needed. When we arrived, it was a little chillier that we expected and they came over that evening to assure that we knew how to operate the heat as well as offering to lay fires in the two fireplaces. The views from the terrace are breathtaking. The bedrooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated and the bathrooms and showers are the nicest we had our entire trip. We had planned on visiting San Sebastian and Bilbao while here but actually ended up staying in the area. There are wonderful restaurants in the village and a day trip to St. Jean de Luz was very enjoyable. If ever in this area again, we will certainly plan a return visit.

What a view, what a house!

If you are considering renting this home, trust the photos! Amaia and her family have created a wonderfully warm and inviting property set in a stunningly beautiful part of the Basque coast. We walked along well-marked country trails to both Getaria and Zarautz, and had incredible seafood dinners in Getaria, at Elkano and Kaipe. And Amaia had abundant information for every possible question we might have. Finally, the beds are excellent. You will sleep well!

Una Casa preciosa, unas vistas maravillosas y las propietarias muy atentas y amables. Un 10!!

Nuestra estancia en la Casa Lakano enea ha sido estupenda. Hemos estado dos familias con niños y todo ha sido perfecto. La Casa es preciosa, tal y como muestran las fotos, muy amplia, perfectamente equipada y con unas vistas maravillosas. Esta siuada en un entorno envidiable entre los viñedos de Txacoli y con vistas al mar entre Getaria y la playa de Zarautz... En un Paseo estás en el pueblo de Zarautz o Getaria. La Iniciación es perfecta para descubrir San Sebastián, pais Vasco Frances o la ruta hacia Bilbao. Y tienes el parque natural de Pagoeta muy cerca para hacer excursiones. Las dueñas de la Casa han estado muy serviciales y amables, un gusto! Muy recomendable!! Repetiremos!!!

"c'est une maison bleue adossée a la colline....." magnifique maison décorée avec un gout exquis.Nous y avons passé un séjour inoubliable malgré un temps maussade car nous avons apprécié rentrer a la maison pou profiter d'un feu de bois dans la cheminée et de la magnifique vue sur le port de getaria et les vignobles de txakoli aux belles couleurs d'automne . la maison est très confortable, les chambres spacieuses avec un literie excellente ainsi que le linge de lit et le linge de toilette . calme absolu .Cuisine are bien équipée, pieces de vie chaleureuses . beaux meubles ,beaucoup de livres ( adultes et enfants ) jeux de société et jouets pour enfants Un grand merci à Amaia et Aberri pour leur accueil très chaleureux et pour avoir su aménager une maison pleine de charme !!!!!!! Nous avons regrette d'en partir et nous souhaitons pouvoir y revenir très vite MERCI AMAIA et ABERRI
