Renovated Houseboat in the Center of Ghent (Captain's Room)

Old river ship (Kempenaar type), converted into a Bed & Breakfast with 2 separate studios (Captain's room, 4p) and Sailor room (2p). Each studio has its own entrance, private terrace, bathroom (shower + toilet), wifi and cable TV.
Breakfast is provided, free parking too.
Our boat is 10 minutes' walk from the Historical Center of Ghent and therefore extremely suitable as a base for Ghent, but also for other cities in the Flemish region (Knokke, Bruges, Antwerp, Kortrijk, Ypres, ...).

Excellent property
What a lovely place to spend our last two nights in Europe. This charming boat was comfortable and the breakfast is amazing. I would highly recommend this property.

Geen luxe boot
Het was als ervaring leuk om op een boot te slapen, alleen de kamer die wij kregen (kapiteinskamer) was echt niet voor 4 personen. Er stonden maar 2 stoeltjes met een laken erover, een tafeltje met een vlek in het kleedje dat erop lag en 2 barkrukken, maar geen tafel voor 4 personen om aan te eten. Er zijn geen 2 slaapkamers (dat stond wel vermeld), maar 1 slaapkamer en een slaapbank in de kamer. De douche is niet alleen heel klein, maar wordt ook zeiknat. Dus je kan geen kleding of handdoek meenemen in de douche. Dat is lastig als je met 4 vrienden bent. Hoe kom je dan een douche uit, zonder kleding aan ? Als je s'ochtends naar het toilet moest, kreeg je de druppels van het plafond in je nek door condens. Wij vonden het jammer dat er op een andere site staat dat het een luxe woonboot is met plaatjes van een douche, die wij niet gezien hebben. Als we dit van te voren geweten hadden, hadden we iets anders geboekt. De afstand tot het centrum is wel goed te doen.

Fun experience
This was our first time on a houseboat and we really enjoyed it. The breakfast Maarten provided was very generous and delicious. The neighborhood isn't that pretty, but we were in the center area most of the time. We had everything we needed!

Charming boat stay in ghent
We loved our time in the boat. The room itself is nothing elaborate but was plenty of space for two adults. The host was accommodating and made sure we were comfortable with our stay. A substantial breakfast was delivered to the room each morning. The location was just a few minutes stroll from the center of the town. The space includes parking which was an added bonus for us since there is a green zone in the city! Also located close to laundromat if you have a longer stay.

Week-end à Gand
Nous avons passé un excellent week-end prolongé à Gand avec nos amis. La péniche est agréable, rien ne manque. Le petit déjeuner est fabuleux. Péniche un peu petite pour 4 adultes, mais cela ne nous a pas empêché de profiter pleinement de notre séjour. Merci aux propriétaires très aimables.
