The traffic-free Longendale Trail can also be picked up in Glossop, which stretches for 7 miles from Hadfield to Woodhead Tunnel, and is accompanied by spectacular scenery.

The wonderful village of Hayfield neighbours Glossop, and is popular with walkers due its close proximity to Kinder Scout. Hayfield caters well for tourists with its own collection of pubs, cafés and restaurants.
