Great stay at the New Inn. Staff friendly. Beds great. Nice good value breakfast. Yes, it's a bit tired & less modernised than many, but this place oozes history.

Unfortunately we weren’t able to stay at the place we booked as my booking was lost and they were full. So cannot really review. One star given based on my booking being lost.

Staff were excellent and considering it was built in 1444 it is not surprising that in places it is looking a little tired. Bar was excellent and the staff were friendly.

Room was large and spacious, the staff helpful. Although some noise heard from the courtyard below, this is to be expected. The hotel is full of character and history and was a real treat to stay in.

A really enjoyable place to stay. The New Inn is picturesque and historic; it is neither a five-star hotel nor a modern one. It could do with investment. But it is really to be enjoyed for what it is, and the staff manage it as best as its antiquity permits.

The location of the hotel is excellent and is full of character. But there is a fine line between character and shabby - the place is badly in need of a makeover as looking very tired and out dated.

I liked that it was in the town centre. The bathroom was big and clean. It had a good sized bed. But it was too hot and it needs a bigger fan in the room.

Very enjoyable stay. Lovely breakfast. The age of the building come's with quirky slopes and creeks in the bedrooms but it's all part of the experience of staying in such a historic building

Overall the stay at The new In was satisfactory. The staff were friendly and helpful. The decor of our room was a little tired and dated, but overall comfortable. The advertisement stated there is a real ale bar but NO real ale is sold

The inn itself is lovely and the staff were so accommodating! That said, it’s a medieval inn and does NOT have any air conditioning despite being advertised as such by some sites. I would highly recommend it to anyone unless it’s a heatwave as it was when we were there.

Hotel is in a very central position in Gloucester, right amongst the shops and with a variety of restaurants within easy walking distance. Hotel itself is very old dating back to Tudor times and is steeped in history. As it is a listed building any renovation work would have to be carried out to strict regulations. Rooms themselves are pretty basic but clean and comfortable. There are very steep stairs at the hotel and no lift so people with mobility difficulties should avoid this hotel. All in all a pretty good stay really.

Enjoyed my stay, I think I should have gone for a bigger room, my single room was devoid of character , no plug in the sink, shower control was not in good condition. The hotel itself is lovely, friendly staff and delicious meals, would definitely stay there again.
