Authentic chalets in nature
This was my second stay at Chancellor Peak. We stayed in chalet #14 which is private with an amazing view of the Peak and the surrounding nature. The chalet complex is located right at the Kootenay River. The area is very quiet and there are bears as well. A black bear came looking for food around the chalets a couple of nights. Overall a great place to stay and good value.

My wife and I stayed two nights in August and were unpleasantly surprised with our experience. There was a failure to communicate amongst staff about our reservation and it was like no one knew we were coming. The rooms in our chalet were not cleaned, beds were not made, used wet towels were still out on the bathtub, trash still in the unit. The "person responsible" was over in the nearest town. We had to wait for her and a helper to return and prepare the unit for us. The units are individually owned like rental property and an individual resides in one of the units as a "property manager". The owner of our particular cabin communicates only by email and when he can respond to you. So in essence, not much in the way of service. What you see is what you get when you arrive. The cabin is well built but the property seemed to be loosely managed and struck me as the typical landlord -tenant arrangement with the minimum attention paid to it for upkeep. Screens were missing in the upstairs bedroom window. There is a single ceiling fan that needs attention and made noise when you turned it on. Poor lighting in the upstairs bathroom. There were adequate dinnerware and tableware for meals but two very worn and rusty skillets for cooking that looked like they were left over by a prospector from the gold rush days of the early 1800's. Amenities listed were simply free Wi-Fi and free parking. All in all, this experience was not what we expected for the price charged!

Hi Roy, We thank you for your feedback and take full accountability. Fairly put, there has been a property management issue this summer and we are moving into a different management system come fall. We apologize for the unclean cabin upon your arrival. This is unacceptable and we will make sure that you are compensated for the cleaning fee and then some for your stay. You are correct that each cabin is owned by its own individual owner and that the state of your chalet is not the same as every other chalet. We have let the owner know the areas for improvement you have suggested. We appreciate your honesty and acknowledge this was definitely not the experience you should have had. Please look for said credit applied September 19. Thank you and warm regards.

チェックインがメール対応となっていたが、Hotels.com の予約では不明だった。 電話連絡で確認取れたが、困った。 部屋は快適。リネン類の交換が無くやや不満。数量は多めに用意されていたが。 1階はシャワールームのみ、2階はバスタブのみの構成で、使いづらさあり。 1階にキングサイズのベッドルーム。2階には、ダブルベッドとシングルベッドが2台。シングルは子供用なのか長さが不十分で使いづらい。 キッチンは香辛料、食用油なども準備されていて、快適。ガス暖炉があり、部屋も暖かい。 買い物にGolden まで行くと意外と遠くて不便。

Tissue box is empty. Downstairs washroom basin drain slow. Hot water suddenly changed to cold water some times. It will be better if there's laundry machine inside unit. I like the utensils as there's enough for me.

If you’re looking for an expensive place to get away from it ALL, this may be for you. Upon arrival (during the 4pm-8pm defineD checkin window) we were greeted with a sign on the office door that directed us to call the manager if assistance was needed. We had been provided with no information about the “self checkin”. The cabin was ok however, most units view of the mountains are obscured by the other cabins clustered near by. The nightly rates are very high for average lodging and “remote management” (I don’t blame the nice lady working there, but the owners who devised this arrangement). Closest grocery stores and restaurants are a good 20 minute drive away (there is nothing nearby). Unless you really are looking for secluded and do-it-yourself I would recommend staying in either Golden B.C. or Banff AB.

We had such a great time. The facility is fantastic. However, we were really disappointed about the firewood. We contacted the manager all day on Saturday hoping to buy some firewood and she never got back to us. We kept stopping by her unit as well and no one was home. My kids were very disappointed that we were not able to have a fire for the night and make some s’mores.

The chalet is spacious with appropriate distance from other units to keep privacy. The arrangement of a bedroom downstairs and kids bedroom upstairs is perfect for a family vacation. The kitchen is well equipped for daily cooking. In winter the driving is not always easy from the chalet to Lake Louise - it takes about 40 minutes as it is located just outside of the national parks. This is the only drawback for us on this ski vacation to Lake Louise.

Peace and quiet, away from the crowds of Banff. Code to unlock the door allowed us to arrive late due to unforeseen circumstanses. The fire place set the mood for a serene setting. LOVED IT.

BC must do!
The chalet was amazing and the view spectacular. It was close to Lake Louise for day trips and we did Kicking Horse with the restaurant at the top of the mountain which was outstanding!!! Thecyeails at the top of the mountain were also outstanding. Everyone should make this a priority and stay at Chancellor Peaks Chalet. You won’t regret it!

My wife and I like the quiet setting of CP. Its quite remote so buy your food in either Banff or Golden, there are no stores in Field.

Log home convenient for the Trans Canada Hwy
Communication about directions etc were excellent but it would have been nice if the owners were to make an effort to welcome visitors and to be available when new visitors arrive.

Due to the large number of guests choosing to arrive later, we moved to a self check in process for the convenience of guests. We do have an onsite manager on staff that is available for guest inquiries/concerns. We appreciate your feedback.

Spacious and fully equipped cabin
Really spacious cabin, fully equipped. About 20 min from Golden downtown and ideal for those who enjoy the outdoors. It was a bit pricey but it was June and check in was until 4. Bring groceries from Calgary as there aren’t many places to go to around there, it is Isolated as you would expect a cabin to be.

High Quality and comfortable log cottage
The cottage was very comfortable. We had good cooking facilities, very comfortable chairs and sofa. The beds were excellent. The loft was open and sleeps four. My wife and I had the bedroom on the main level. The gas fireplace was very inviting and through a lot of heat.

Awesome location, staff and especially the chalet itself! Gorgeous log construction with a great view of Chancellor Peak. The gas fireplace was warm and inviting! Ten minutes from Yoho NP.

My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights during our 7 day trip through the National Parks in the Canadian Rockies. The cabins are very nice and comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. It is located between Lake Louise and Glacier National Park. Very isolated, so make sure you enjoy that type of thing. After spending 3 days in Banff it was nice to get away from all the hustle and bustle and enjoy the more peaceful surrounding at the chalets.
