A Great Place for Families

We loved the privacy of the dead end road, and we felt like our kids were safe to play outside while we enjoyed the beautiful view from the back porch. The cabin was perfect for our 2 families, plenty of seating in the main room, the eating area, and the outdoor area. We also loved the location, very close Ferne Cliff State Park and not too far from Giant City State Park for hiking. We hope to stay here again!

Great, big place with a lot of property for littles to run on. Perfect for kid families and friends. 3 bedrooms each with a queen and a bunk. Amazing view of the surrounding mountains!

Spectacular views

Perfect location for our family trip! The pictures listed do not do the property justice. This hike is clean, spacious and has everything you need to make a wonderful meal. The covered porch kept us safe from the sun and rain. The beautiful views were breathtaking and relaxing. We wanted to take a kiddie pool with us but we weren't sure if we could or had access to a spigot. Luann not only allowed the pool but she made sure there was a hose we could use to fill it with. This was a great time and we hope to go back!!

Great Time Was Had by All!

Wonderful place to stay! It was perfect for a weekend getaway! Nice large yard for the kids to play! Sat on the back porch overlooking a beautiful view early in the morning while drinking coffee. Loved it!

We had such a great stay and it was properly described. After a four night stay, we were accused of “destroying” the house by the cleaning person for having two piles of what appeared was her sweeping the entire house and a photo we set out on the counter so it would be easily found by the owners after it fell off the wall. There was also a photo of a stain ON A WHITE LINEN (which can, and obviously should be bleached anyways) We take great pride in having all 7 of our boys help us clean and we stay in several rentals every year and have never been accused of this. To say we are disappointed would be an understatement and I would just really consider what you are willing to deal with before booking and spending your money here. If we were ever to break or damage someone else’s things, we would obviously just reach out and make it right.

Annual hunting trip

My husband and several friends go on an annual hunting trip to Shawnee national forest in Illinois. This was their first time staying at this house & everyone loved it! They said the view was amazing commendations were great and they will definitely book this house again.
