The staff was friendly and help us purchase the El Camino pilgrim passports to collect our stamps. They helped us even though we arrived late and they have a great restaurant with very delicious food just next door where you can request your first stamp. "The Parador has amazing history and location. It sits over looking Monforte de Lemos, which is an ok walk down to the town but is a little challenging walking back up (there is a taxi rank in the town). The room we had looked out over the entrance and was large and clean but lacked style / a plushness considering it’s the best hotel in town. It was unfortunate that the pool area was closed, so bar the court yard for drinks / food there were no outside spaces to relax. We ate lunch on arrival...

"The hotel was very nice, and my room seemed quiet until 4am, then some drunk started banging on a door somewhere nearby and shouting in Spanish to let him in. Eventually the noise stopped, but that was my nights sleep destroyed. Other than that, the stay was very good."

"Beautiful historic hotel with amazing views and a fantastic sunset. Staff was very nice and helpful (were upgraded to a nicer room for low cost). Breakfast was so good with “make to order” options. Pool area was lovely. It is a climb to get to the hotel from town so wouldn’t recommend if you don’t plan to drive to town. On-site dining options are wonderful. Perfect stay!"

"We were very impressed with customer service. When we arrived, the room had been double booked. We opened the door to our room and someone else's stuff was there. We contacted the host and he came running to the property to solve the problem. He apologized inmensely about the error and put us up in one of their beautiful apartments instead. We were upset the mistake happened, but also understood that mistakes can happen. We were very impressed on how this was handled and with the end result. We had a wonderful stay in a nice, ample, fully stocked apartment."
