Loved our stay at Shady Pines! Even lost power on Christmas Day due to storms and the kids thought it was “so cool”. The wood burning fireplace was exceptional and brought the warmth needed. Thank you to our lovely hosts for providing a real Christmas tree with lights! We brought some decorations and even left them in a box in the garage for them to keep for future guests. Zero issues, other than we couldn’t find a flashlight- but we found plenty of light needed surrounding the fireplace and got to spend time as a family playing games with zero electronics. :) Can’t wait to come back.

It’s a beautiful property with such rustic charm. Everything was clean and welcoming. The house is super spacious with room for everyone and then more. We loved taking a stroll around the yard enjoying the peace, nature and just the early winter breeze. It was truly a memorable stay and I will definitely recommend to everyone I know!

The house was perfect, had everything you need to be comfortable…. Best part was yard all kinds of games and different options all while being securely fenced for critters and kids. It’s very conveniently located to downtown and other GV amenities! We loved our stay!

This was the perfect place for my husband and I to celebrate our anniversary. Gorgeous views, relaxing hot tub under a million stars, inviting and comfortable home. It was equipped with everything we needed. Our two little dogs loved exploring the fenced yard. We would love to stay here again!

Such a fun getaway with our family. Host was responsive and thoughtful (left some dog treats for our pups who joined us). Location was great, short ride into town for 4of July festivities and the Thursday night market in Grass Valley. Thank you! We hope to be back soon!

Weekend adventure

We needed a place to stay during a family birthday celebration weekend. The property was as listed, super easy check in and out. Beautiful scenery and clean up home. Would love to come back stay again.

My husband, our two dogs, and I stayed at Steve's place for two months while cleanup for the Eaton fire proceeded back in SoCal. Couldn't have asked for a better place or a better host! Comfortable house, all the appliances, beautiful surroundings.

A lovely place to stay!

This is a beautiful home. The builders put more window than wall wherever possible and there are lovely views in all directions. Looking through the trees at the valley below from the deck was especially nice. Lot's of privacy and space with a tall fence with only visible neighbor. House was well stocked- did all our meals there and found everything we needed. Seems like they've added things to the kitchen since earlier reviews. Spotlessly clean. Host replied quickly when I had trouble following the clear instructions. Only quirk was that the lighting in the two smaller bedrooms was extremely dim. I was tempted to go buy some modern LED bulbs. We were at a very hot time and the downstairs bedroom was a bit warm, but not bad. AC was definitely able to get the rest of the house colder than you'd want it to be. Lot's of beautiful sitting areas outside and carefully tended yard, hot tub and above ground pool. The decorations were lovely inside and out. We did end up adding toilet paper. Not sure if they were just trying to stock a starter amount, if we just didn't find the spare, or we just had a different idea of toilet paper for five adults. But it wasn't a big deal to pick up at the store. All and all, a beautiful place to visit and a destination in and of itself.

Peaceful Getaway

The house was everything we were looking for. The owner, Stephen, was responsive and helpful. We were treated to a wonderful gift basket and seasonal above ground pool. We enjoyed the wild turkey family and deer walking through the yard. the yard.

Beautiful cabin

This was perfect for our needs, a secluded cabin large enough for the extended family to come together. The kitchen could have been better supplied for cooking and the hot tub was not clean enough to use, but we otherwise found it a great stay.

Awesome!!

The property is great and the views are beautiful off the back decks. Great property for dog owners to throw a ball and fetch with their favorite pooch. The Owner, Steven, is wonderful to work with and very flexible. The house provided us with everything we needed including lawn games and beach towels. We cannot wait to return! Oh, and super close to everything especially the golf course!

Nice place!

Highly recommended for a memorable vacation experience! "Shady Pines" in Grass Valley is a hidden gem with stunning Pine Forest views. The house is tastefully appointed, providing all the comforts of home. The spacious deck and fenced-in yard are perfect for dog owners, offering plenty of room to enjoy. Despite having a neighbor next door, the fully fenced area ensures privacy. There are plenty of activities to explore in Grass Valley. Just remember to bring mosquito repellent. Overall it was a great place.
