Bachelor Party fun!

Came here for a small bachelor party. Perfect location to escape city life. Property was even better than the pictures display!

Great getaway

Needed a place to stay for 1 night. Wish we would of stayed longer. Clean. Roomy. Close to Gravenhurst downtown. Would rent and stay here again.

1. check-in: no info before arrival. no info/signs on arrival how to check in. called host cell: did not pick up, no voice-mail available, then hung up. 2. kitchen: new counter top, nice. no coffee maker, toaster. very few pots to cook, were uncleanable. no drinking glasses, just wine glasses. no coffee cups. plugs in kitchen not working. we saw mice in kitchen. 3. deck: very nice deck, no furniture provided...we brought ours from home...ridiculous! deck had not been swept in a long time, tree droppings everywhere. I swept it. BBQ old, filthy and not working. no electrical outlet on deck. 4. living: 1 very small roll out sofa/bed, old. nothing else in rm. 5. bathrm 2nd flr: 1 toilet paper roll provided. shower stall very dirty. 6. bedrms were great, very comfortable. portable ACs in each rm. 7. listing had very little info, misleading. Host did not always respond to my messages for further info. 8. definitely not worth the $$. going after Expedia for LARGE credit. do not book this place.

Poor communication and disappointing experienceUnfortunately, our experience with this booking was not positive. After reserving the property, we encountered an issue and tried to contact both the host and Vrbo right away. Communication from the host was unhelpful and we never received check-in or access instructions. In the end, we were unable to stay at the property and were disappointed by the lack of flexibility and support.

Good location. Opportunity for improvement: Twin beds are very squeaky. The oven door glass was ready to fall off with no handle present. The TV is on the wall but no signal source, was told that it’s a showpiece.

Beautiful spot but bring some essentials

An absolutely beautiful spot. The property was as advertised but you may need to bring some essentials such as a coffee maker, cutlery (I left some behind), plates, cups, knives, pots and pans if you plan to cook. Also the water was not potable but there is a kettle to boil water or bring your own. Th owner just has to state the items I mentioned in the description so people are prepared for these shortfalls. Still worth it.

The view is nice but the description wasn't accurate. There was tv but it wasn't functional. There is no oven like they listed in the amenities. Very few utilities like plates, utensils and pans, no cups. There was no basic stuff like paper towels or kitchen towels. We had to purchase at their store at the marina which was expensive. Shampoo and body wash wasn't also included. The grill was broken and took us a long time to cook our food. Overall I was expecting a cozy stay but if you want to book here make sure you bring everything you need.

Worst stay ever

The house was full of spider webs everywhere, beneath chairs, inside the oven, on a kitchen chimney, chandeliers and I didn’t even have courage to open the barbecue. The host was very rude.. I asked for extra towels and utensils, he said the he would charge more.. the water heating kettle was not working and we asked for it, we were told that they provide basically NOTHING!!

Many issues

No check-in instructions were provided beforehand, the cottage is located inside a marina (parking was the same as marina parking), which was not obvious by the address. We had to drive up to the marina gate and call the number on the gate fob. Many aspects of the listing were not accurate. There was no hot tub as advertised, the kitchen was not fully usable as cups, plates, cutlery and utensils were not provided. There was a patio but no outdoor seating. The living room had no furniture other than a pull out couch. The only seating is the dining table and wooded chairs. The TV/remote didn’t work. The water was not potable, luckily we brought bottled water for drinking but this was not told to us before. The shower did not work (sputtering and the water was from the lake so it didn’t look clean). The bedrooms were very clean but the main floor and bathroom were not very clean. The property manager did provide plastic cups and paper plates/cutlery when we asked, and was very kind. But it’s very unprofessional to not let us know before hand. We would not have booked this cottage if we had known this, since we were looking for a cozy cottage weekend rather than a camping experience.

Looked nice when we first arrived. Then we found out that the forepit advertised was a few rocks in a half moon, no pit, among brown/dried pine needles. The patio door didn't lock. No walking access to the private dock. Wifi didnt work for most of the night. Tv didnt work, remote for tv didnt have batteries either. Doesnt truly sleep 5, the pull put couch was dirty and gross. The next morning we discovered black mold in the shower, behind the fridge, along rhe upper roof beams, along with terminates. Leading to the conclusion thatvthey simply covered up any issues with new pine planking insode.No blinds on the windows. Wasn't advertised as on the edge of a marina. Bbq was rotting badly. No plates or cups. Very happy we did not end up staying more than 1 night. Would not recommend. Very disappointed and grossed out.

Great location, “private dock”, place was clean with exception of some beer bottles on the back deck. Hard to communicate with host. No ammenties, TV does not work, not much plates or glasses, and no soap or shampoo in showers. Beds were good and towels provided. Did have a small mouse pop up at the front door which is locked but no one minds an extra visitor right. I’d say not a bad stay but not as good as listing suggests. Book at your own risk.

The location is excellent, in front of the lake. The cottage was very nice, maintenance was just okay, but clean. The rooms and beds very good. The living room doesn’t have enough furniture, just one small sofa bed. The kitchen is very poor in utensil, plates and pans to cook.

Beautiful Lakefront Cottage

Beautiful and very spacious cottage! I loved the rustic feel and the many extraordinary views! The owners were so helpful and accommodating! I will definitely be staying again. (Side note: bring your own pots, pans, cutlery, dishes- they offer disposable items)
