What a lovely room. A bed you could sink into, even though my husband prefers a firmer bed I thought it was great. Loved the Character of the place so much history. Menu looked good but unfortunately we weren’t there to eat an evening meal. Ooh! but having stayed in many hotels this had the best and most perfectly cooked English Breakfast I have ever had. Even better than mine and that’s saying something. Staff were very friendly and I would be very happy to recommend anyone to stay here.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. This is a five hundred year old building so don't expect a Premier inn with nice even floors and shiny paintwork, however if you want a pub hotel with real character this place is a gem. Every member of staff was great and couldn't do enough to make the stay perfect. Unfortunately we didn't get to have a meal there but the breakfast is absolutely worth getting up for. We will be back.

Always a joy to return

Staff are warm welcoming and friendly. Food is great especially the full english breakfast. Rooms are clean beds are really comfy. Its a 17th century building with all the quirks you would expect. There is a huge beer garden and parking in a nice village location

Lovely pub and stay

Super friendly and helpful staff especially Joe and Keri. Lovely owners who chatted with us each night and gave us tips on what to see. Comfortable bed and room. Really old buildings so don’t expect it to be pristine but it has loads of character and history. We ate in the pub both nights, the food was good, served very quickly considering it is all cooked to order and was fairly priced. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.

De lokatie is erg mooi met dorpswinkel op loopafstand. De kamer was schoon en netjes maar tijdens douchen bleek de douchekop erg te lekken. Diner werd aanvankelijk lauw opgediend maar dat werd op ons verzoek snel gecorrigeerd. Al met al hebben we er fijn overnacht.

Perfect English coutryside retreat

The hospitality was some of the best i have ever experienced. The food was great, the beer garden was perfect. Brian and Sue and the entire staff were absolutely the best and will forever be a memorable part of our trip. Yes, the building is old, 1600s. To us, that is a key part of the charm. You wont be disappointed. Dont hesitate. Dont overthink it. Book your stay here.
