Pet-Friendly 2-Bed Chalet: Near Broads & Short Walk to Beach

Cosy and clean two bedroom chalet, a 7 minute walk from the Norfolk coast with sandy beach (dog friendly). Perfectly positioned on the California Sands Estate to maintain a sense of rural solitude. Free onsite parking on campsite.

The chalet is best suited for a maximum of four guests (sharing one double bed and two single beds). However, for an additional fee (£30), a sofa-bed is available and bedding can be supplied an extra guest (two guests maximum sharing sofa bed).

THE SPACE
Living Area: Relax in the comfortable lounge with flatscreen TV, wii console (+4 games), IKEA sofa-bed, armchair, beanbag, dining table for four, and electric heating.
Kitchen: Fully equipped with fridge, freezer, microwave, 4-plate electric stove with oven, plus all essential utensils. Fire safety equipment included.
Bedroom 1: Double bed with fresh linen, cupboard and bedside storage. Electric heater.
Bedroom 2: Bunk beds with linen provided, cupboard and bedside storage. Electric heater.
Bathroom: Shower room with WC and basin. Electric heater.
Outdoor Space: Large grassed area with outside seating.

The chalet is an Ideal base to explore the Great Yarmouth area. It is comfortable, well equipped and in a good location. It says it is dog friendly so perhaps this criticism is unfair, but it did smell of dog and we needed to buy a reed diffuser to combat the smell. Also the towels had been stored damp and so smelt damp. I suggest the owner buy new towels, and put a scent dispenser in the lounge. Then it would be 5 stars. The nearby beach is good - see photos, and we didn't manage to visit the local pub, but it looked good.

The chalet was clean on arrival, with milk in fridge and tea and coffee, it was spacious enough for 3 and dog. The electric lasted for a while, £3 on the meter on arrival. The area was quiet, facilities were great, shop and chippy on site open till 10pm, the only let down was the nightly entertainment you had to be a member to get in or you had to pay.

The place was nice and i liked there was a games console for the kids. I didnt like having to turn off the heating at night so that the meter did not run out as it was cold at night so havig to decide about how much to put in the meter so we coukd have heating all night ot not but the place was clean and had all the kitchen utilities we needed and easy to find.

We enjoyed our stay - the property was clean and is well looked after. It is a traditional chalet in a private holiday park which has some good amenities - at an extra cost. We appreciated the help from the owner when we needed it and was helpful at answering our queries before our stay. There are a few things that would make our score excellent - clarity of cost of electricity and instructions in the chalet of how to use it would have been helpful. The kitchen equipment could be better - as we cooked in the chalet most nights - i.e. just one, well used frying pan. The chalet was cold so you need the electricity! Bedrooms were comfortable and there is great storage. I think we’d have enjoyed it most in the summer - but still fun things to do in October half term - swimming pool (at extra cost) on site is excellent, Oasis Club and restaurant was good, we enjoyed the Bingo - note: again paid entrance; beach just a short walk and a good place to explore Norfolk from. All in all we enjoyed our stay - but the extra costs mount up for the additional on site amenities and electricity.

It was a well presented chalet, clean and tidy with all the bits you would need to cook and clean a nice touch which wasn't there when we visited in August was the towels placed on all the beds, also the host puts in the fridge for your arrival.
