Beautiful historic hotel. Very clean for its age. Well decorated, amazing staircase. Our king room was on the third floor which was great but some may find it difficult to carry their bags up there without a lift. I'm sure a staff member would have helped if needed. Great food/bar options within the building. Short walk to the Esplanade which was lovely. We had a wonderful stay.

The Tontine is a delightful old-world hotel — complete with beautiful stained glass in the entry windows — that befits the heritage of its neighborhood. Staff were extremely helpful, accommodating my flight-caused schedule change, and room service was very quick and exactly the meal I ordered.

We showed up much later than expected and were greeted by a very cheery, welcoming host. Room had a renovated bathroom and lots of amenities. Bedroom furniture could do with an upgrade but comfy. Full Scottish breakfast in the morning was the best we’ve had yet!!

Arrived late after a long drive and wasn’t impressed at first by the buildings round the parking area . However on entering the original part of the hotel we found it to be beautifully furnished and decorated. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet, which was suprising as they were hosting a fabulous wedding reception there. breakfast was lovely and plentiful , buffet style bacon etc and cereals and fruit , coffee and juices . All staff very pleasant and helpful. The original parts of the hotel are stunning .

The room was lovely and warm, clean and modern . A nice welcome on arrival and the staff seemed well trained and polite. The food was adequate but not great if you’re looking for something special . Very usefully , half portions offered on some meals if you don’t want a huge helping. Perfectly fine for me just passing through.

Room was very clean and fresh, downside a double bed, adults really need a king size regardless of what you’re paying, parking is mostly on street and easy, overall the hotel is well kept and modern.

Clean, comfortable room. Lacked shelving space for toiletries in bathroom. Waited for breakfast items (including orange juice) to be replenished. Overall, facilities were adequate but lacked finesse. Bar staff were pleasant.

We were so pleasantly surprised by our stay. We expected a simple hotel that would be all we needed for a location near an event we were attending, but we totally underestimated things. The building is beautiful, our room was clean, well decorated and comfortable, all staff we spoke to were lovely, and both our dinner in the cocktail bar and breakfast in the dining room were good quality.
