Excellent boutique hotel with great food

Very stylish small hotel with great breakfast (homemade marmalade was great). The owners are very friendly, helpful and a great source of local knowledge. Dinner was way better than expected - the locally sourced smoked trout was as good as I have had anywhere.

We loved this bed and breakfast! The hosts were extremely hospitable and we loved the local food they offered. The patio was a perfect space to relax after a busy day, and we loved that we were encouraged to unplug and connect more by not having a TV in the room.

Such a lovely place to visit. The staff were so kind and accommodating. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. We did not eat at the hotel but we did have a tasty espresso martini at the bar. Would highly recommend.

The service and hospitality received was incredible. From the complimentary champagne on check in (and at breakfast) to the great conversations with the hard working owners, our stay was amazing. It was impeccably decorated with every piece intentionally picked and well thought out. The food was locally sourced and well prepared We would have stayed many nights if we could have. 10/10 would recommend anyone to stay there, even if just for one night

Our favorite hotel in Baden-Württemberg, Germany

Wonderful family-run hotel with excellent restaurant. Couple who run this hotel are friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable about the area. They speak fluent English, which was helpful. Our meal in the restaurant was the best we had during our trip and was made with locally-sourced ingredients. The hotel itself is a beautifully restored and updated building. The fact that it is adults only ensured a quiet, restful stay. Great Black Forest location with plenty of parking.

Great Boutique Hotel in a scenic setting

Engel16 is a fantastic find not far from Germany’s highest waterfall with comfortable accommodation in a beautiful setting. Astrid and Victor are wonderful hosts who take the utmost care to care for their guests and offer an amazing restaurant menu in the evening tasty breakfast in the morning! I wish we had more time to stay, enjoy the area and experience the hospitality. Thank you!

Unglaublich herzliche Gastgeber! Die Lage an der Strasse ist unweigerlich mit Strassenlärm verbunden. Nachts aber recht ruhig. Es war sehr heiss und darum auch im Zimmer eher warm. Aber wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen, der Aufenthalt war ein Highlight unserer Schwarzwald-Runde!

Ein besonderer Aufenthalt herzlich & einzigartig

Wir hatten das Vergnügen, eine Nacht im Hotel Engel 16 in Gutach zu verbringen, und waren begeistert von der besonderen Atmosphäre dieses Hauses. Das Design schafft eine wunderbare Balance zwischen Kreativität und Tradition, wodurch sich das Hotel von den vielen gesichtslosen Kettenhotels angenehm abhebt. Hier steckt Persönlichkeit und Herzblut in jedem Detail! Besonders hervorzuheben ist die herzliche und menschliche Gastfreundschaft, man fühlt sich sofort willkommen und bestens aufgehoben. Am Morgen erwartete uns ein leckeres Frühstück in einer stilvollen Umgebung mit einem wunderschönen Blick auf die Landschaft und die Berge, ein perfekter Start in den Tag. Wer eine individuelle, warme und authentische Unterkunft sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Wir können das Hotel Engel 16 uneingeschränkt empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder!
