This property is an early 1900's renovated US Military home. The rooms are very comfortable and staff very helpful. The only negative is the lack of elevators to access the upper floors. We very much enjoyed the stay and booked a 2nd night a week later.

Wonderful old hotel with a lot of charm. A great stop over after taking the Alaska Maritime ferry from Bellingham Washington to Haines! Avis car rental located in the lobby!

An old building complex in a great location overviewing the inlet and town of Haines. The hotel itself is an old building, used to be army barracks, age can be seen in and outside but the room was clean and quiet. It feels like from different times, which is. We were greeted with a smile and clear instructions. There was a coffee and teamaker in the lobby and there was always enough coffee/tea for every guest. Loved the stay and the views and the northern lights :)

We really liked our stay in the hotel. The owner was really helpful telling us the places to go visit. He was kind enough to let us use the microwave and provides cutlery for our food. He also shared with us where we could get some bear sightings in a safe manner. Overall, if you are going to Haines, I would recommend the hotel.

Our stay here was great, 2 nights during a work trip for my coworker and I. The building is old but well maintained and clean. No breakfast or washing machine but its worth headed into the town and checking out the local businesses for these. Top notch customer service, this hotel is also the local Avis car rental, and the owner came to pick us up from the airport after we failed to get ahold of any local taxi service. He also gave us a rundown of the local sites and businesses which was a huge help during our stay. 10/10 would recommend.

I loved this place, and Jeff the host was wonderfully helpful. However, the Expedia pictures are grossly misleading, thus, my poor experience. There is no bar, no restaurant, no breakfast. But my room was clean, this was a historic place, and I would still recommend it.
