Romantic Hideaway with Beautiful Seaviews

  • Set amongst native bush and situated right next to a scenic reserve, this pole house offers beautiful sea views across the harbour to historic Waitangi and Russell. Tui Cottage is sunny and comfortable, sit at the lounge bay window and watch the boats and kayakers go by. In high tide the water laps at the bottom of the section. Tui Cottage offers peace and privacy and is home to many birds including tuis, quails and kiwis, yet it's only 3km from central Paihia and Beach. Bay of Islands offers numerous activities all year round. There is a large car deck, so there's room for two cars, or bring the boat! A lovely spot for a truly relaxing break away from it all. Price includes: fresh linen and towels. Free unlimited internet (WIFI) access.

    Downstairs is a spacious open plan lounge with flat screen TV and new kitchen with oven, dishwasher and microwave. A balcony leads of the lounge and looks over a scenic reserve with views of Waitangi. This level has one double bedroom and a bathroom with shower, vanity and toilet.

    The second level has the master bedroom, which has an ensuite and a private balcony overlooking the reserve.

    The house can accommodate up to 5 guests (two couples) as there are two double beds. The 3rd bedroom has a single bed.
    Special conditions:
    Smoking allowed outside only. Deck is not suitable for small children.

    Extras: Linen (included); NOTE: Under Kiwi Cottage tradition, you are expected to: leave the house clean and tidy and do the dishes before you leave.

From the moment we walked into the house we all knew we were in for a really enjoyable stay!The house was clean, the beds comfortable and well made, bathrooms sparkling and the kitchen had everything we needed!!All instructions for entry were clear and concise and communication with Paul were ongoing throughout our stay!

Peaceful with water views

Enjoyed our stay. Close to town but with a feeling of space on the edge of the estuary, lovely water views, with lots of trees around. Bach was spacious and well equipped.

Amazing bach in Bay of islands

This bach was incredible to stay out, location and views were amazing! Short drive to paihia and all the activities, so good to stay out of the busy town, in such a peaceful location, but have it so close. Bach was so well set up, we loved our time here. Paul was an awesome host, and there if we needed anything!

Great little getaway cottage

A great place to stay in the Bay of Islands. Easy to find with good parking. Only a very short drive from lots of things to do. Cottage had everything we needed for our stay, including to do some of our own cooking. We would go back if we were going to holiday in the area again. Thanks

Tucked out of the way with fantastic views and very peaceful outlook. Nicely presented property that provides a great base to explore. One small criticism would be to upgrade the patio furniture to make the outdoor deck area more welcoming and 'usable'.

Beautiful view

Really special location- a calming view with almost no sign of human habitation. But a quick drive to paihia, haruru falls, supermarket etc. Perfect for our family of 3 including a three year old for five nights, and we were joined on three of those nights by the grandparents who loved it too.

It was a lovely spot to stay. Our only issues with the place were the lack of aircon, making night time incredibly hot to sleep, and the pointless white curtains that don't block out any light including the street light outside the main bedroom window.

Amoungst the trees with sea views

The house is everything you could possibly desire as accomodation. It has everything you need to be comfortable and its clean and tidy. The location is excellent. Quiet with fabulous views arcross native tree tops, mangroves, inlet and Waitangi bridge. Bird watching is great (the feathered variety) and you witness the comings and going of water traffic and fish jumping. Splendid. Definitely recommend.

Golf trips to Bay Of Islands

The location is 10 min to Paihia and 20 min to Keri Keri. The balcony has wonderful view of the bay with a great view of the sunrise. The surrounding is peace and quiet. Will be great if hair and body shampoo is provided. We checked in late and have to go back to the town to buy these necessity.

Relaxing and private hideaway

We loved the incredible view on to water and hills, the privacy, the beautiful deck and the window seat. The property, bedding and towels were clean, the living spaces were well-organised, and the layout suited our party perfectly. The kitchen had everything we needed and the selection on the TV was great. There were a lot of stairs to get to the front door, but the 83-year-old grandmother managed fine. Backing out of the parking space, our car skidded on the gravel a little bit, but nothing to worry about. Thank you for an excellent stay. Excellent communication from the host. Highly recommend this property.
