Unplug at this charming creekside cottage less than 25 minutes from Floyd, VA, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the New River, Hillsville Flea Market and Yoga Jam. Private and set in nature, the two bedroom/one bath newly renovated home is close to local music venues, hiking at Rock Castle Gorge, biking the New River Trail, river sports, fishing and sightseeing,

With a short drive from Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, Charlotte, and central Virginia, you can experience a charming corner of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This updated guest house sits on a 250 acre farm, the grounds of Foggy Ridge Cider, formerly an award winning hard cider producer and now a cider apple orchard providing cider apples to cideries across the south.

The Garden House is also close to Olde Mill Golf Course and Primland, a premier golf and resort location. On the property, you can relax sitting on the new deck with gas grill overlooking Rock House Creek or strolling on the farm. This spot is ideal for a couples get-way, a family vacation or a girls weekend.

The Garden House is a short drive from historic Floyd, VA, home of the Friday Night Jamboree, as well as Olde Mill and Primland Golf Resort. Activities include biking on the Blue Ridge Parkway and New River Trail, hiking in Rock Castle Gorge or on nearby Buffalo Mountain, water sports on the New River, artisan craft studios and riding beautiful country roads.

No pets or smoking please. Verizon is the most available cell service in this rural area though other providers work as well. Internet connectivity is available through a hot spot on your phone. Ideal for a quiet TV-free get away! Note that the pine-paneled second floor twin-bed bedroom is in a recently renovated attic space with steep stairs, pictured in the property photos.

The little house is just cute. There is an upstairs too with twin beds. It is quiet and relaxing. There was no noise and that was a little testing at times cause I am used to noise of some kind but all in all, it was very nice.

It was just as advertised. Remote quite, and disconnected. Exactly what i needed. I hiked watched otters in the creek enjoyed beautiful fall colors and great views.

We had a great stay at the garden cottage! The property is stunning and had so many beautiful spots to explore! The map of the property was helpful, and the information provided by the hosts was so interesting! Beware however when they say it’s a steep hill they mean STEEP! We will definitely be back!

Exactly as described and exactly what I needed. I wanted to take my daughter and her girlfriend somewhere quiet and remote, with few distractions and that’s what I found. The whole stay was so relaxing and calming. We slept with the windows open to hear the creek and feel the wonderfully chilly air (in August!) In the mornings I walked the trails behind the house to enjoy viewing all the wildflowers, butterflies, and birds. During the day we ventured out for classic, country breakfasts, then to the nearby town of Floyd and to Foster Falls. Everywhere we drove there were fields of deer and cows grazing, which my city kids were so excited about. In the evenings we worked on a puzzle and played card games. Those two 16 year olds enjoying our simple evenings without their phones was something I would never have expected. They actually asked if we could stay another day and I would have if I could. Next time I hope my husband can join us. The queen bed is comfy and firm, and the house is just big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. When we return I plan to bring food to make breakfast and sandwiches so we don’t have to leave the property if we don’t want to since restaurants are about 20 minutes away. I didn’t try out any of the appliances except for the fridge but everything seemed to be in working order. The host, Diane, is very responsive and a joy to talk to. If you ask she will tell you the fascinating history of the property and its apple orchards. I can’t wait to return.

Sweet and homey but not cleaned well

We loved the feel of this country cabin. The bedding and other linens were all good, carpets vacuumed, and furniture dusted but there were cobwebs in the corners with healthy spiders, dust on baseboards and dirt around the toilet base and bathroom floor corners. Just looked like a more complete vacuuming was needed and a spray of home defense around the baseboards, windows and doors would have made the place more comfortable. The decorating was sweet and thoughtful.

Wasn’t able to get in the house when I got there lucky a Renter from up the street had the same code we then we were able to get get in, I received a not from the owner appoligizeing for the inconvenience and said she sent me an email with the code on it, but I never received the first email, I did get one from verbo but no code! I would think if I didn’t respond to her on the first email that should send off an alarm,
