The front desk staff were Extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly! They immediately replaced the refrigerator when we told them the freezer wasn’t working! We were disappointed at first because the room had no TV, but it forced us to talk with others and catch up on what’s happening in our lives! We’ll definitely recommend Arnott’s Lodge in Hilo!!

I stayed in one of the dorm studio rooms, and it was fantastic! The room was spacious and quiet and clean. It had an efficient air conditioner which worked well and didn't smell of mildew. They had a shared laundry amenity which I didn't end up needing, but was good to have available since everything is so humid in Hilo, damp clothes won't dry on their own. I used the hot plate in the room to reheat some leftovers, which saved me some time and money on going to a restaurant. I would recommend this place if you're staying in Hilo for a few days

Very outdated, no tv in room, walls were dirty/stained and the paint job was terrible. The kitchen area is shared between 5 other rooms, that was very deceiving from the information and pictures. The lady that was staying in the room next to me knocked on my door one night to ask me how to work the wifi, it seemed like she was on drugs the way she was acting. Staff very friendly and helpful, they have boogie boards, towels, other beach stuff free to use. The bedding and bathroom were however very clean but i would not stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay, everything was so comfortable. It was spacious, clean, we found the kitchenette useful, well stocked, great to prep meals to save money. Location is my favorite part of Hilo.

AC definitely did not get cold. Ceiling fan did not work either, we were given a box fan at least. I’d say the pictures of the property on Expedia were a little generous for the quality of the room we had. We seemed to be the only ones there the night we stayed and if that is the best room available with a poorly working ac unit and non functional fan I wouldn’t want to see the other rooms. Staff was friendly though. The room was musty, but it is the Hilo side of the island and it is wet all of the time.

This is our second stay at Arnott’s Lodge and we will definitely be back again! We appreciate the kind and helpful staff, all the amenities we need, and the location can’t be beat! We travel with kids and it is great for all ages. It would be a safe and comfortable for single travelers.
