Great location, older property, minor issues

This property is in a great central location in Sea Pines, very close to the stables and nature preserve. 15 minute bike ride to the beach, 25-30 minute bike ride (or 5-10 minute drive) to a community pool. The management firm was responsive. We appreciated the included bikes (adult) and it was simple to rent kid bikes and have them delivered. This is an older home that has been partially updated. The living and dining areas are comfortable as are the bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen is functional.

Perfect Location

55 Lawton is the perfect location in Sea Pines, central to all the wonderful areas and easy to bike. The home is lovely with ample supplies, including bikes.

feb dream stay

We LOVED this home!!! Our 12th year coming and our favorite place so far. Living room was super cozy, natural light perfect and plenty of dishes and cookware to make meals. Also location next to the stables was great for bike riding . We will book again!!!

Pool is under construction

We enjoyed renting the property but there were somethings that were a disappointment. The pool is under renovation this year. We were really disappointed that this wasn’t communicated to us in the listing or in an email. The trolley ride to the beach was pretty far and was complicated if you had a large group and needed to take several items to the beach. Some of the beds felt like they had sand on the sheets. The house was nice and we enjoyed having the bicycles to ride.

Crappy house

We stayed here for spring break for one week. Pros—bikes were available Cons—property needs a good cleaning, gutters were overflowing with debris, dryer did not work (my husband had to take an hour to clean it so it would dry), holes in blankets, very worn furniture, outdoor space is practically nonexistent. Chairs and table sit on mulch so not much need to ever go outdoors to enjoy a meal. Dishwasher smelled like rotten food when operating. I contacted property manager on Wednesday and never received a call back. Would NOT recommend

Weekend getaway

My family and our friends had a great stay. This house slept many and we were comfortable. We greatly appreciated the extra chairs that were provided as well as the bikes! The weather was super nice and the bikes were a highlight. I will say that the one room with no windows was disappointing and although the location was accurate in the description it was far from the beach. Definitely a good bike ride to the beach. Even though I say that we would definitely stay here again!

Peaceful

The property is located here at quiet neighborhood. The bikes were in good condition. (Takes about seven minutes to get to the beach by bike.). Nice decor, comfortable mattresses. The back yard is a bit close to the main road and gets noisy at certain hours so we did not use the back patio. Good, fast internet and a good selection of streaming options on TV. There is a playroom in the back of the “kids’ room” that, for us, served perfectly as a private office for remote work. The property is well managed with super responsive team. Thank you for letting us stay in your place.

Great place and location

House was clean , perfect space for us 3 adults and one child. Location was great at Sea Pines. Having bikes right there for us for absolutely wonderful! Beach chairs were very useful too. My dog had a great time going for walks ! We had a great time !!!

The stay was ok. The home was very musty when we arrived, took a day to get that mold smell gone. The old kitchen cabinets contributed to the musty smell. There was nowhere outside that was inviting to sit outside and enjoy nature. The couch was old and disappointing. We left a day early because we just did not see a reason to stay.

Great stay!

We had a great stay on Hilton Head. The house was very well equipped and comfortable. The kids loved the kids room(s) and the inclusion of the pool was a happy bonus! We would certainly stay here again.

Functional

Updated, contemporary coastal furnishings, clean and well stocked with bath towels and kitchen supplies. Central location in Sea Pines, close to the Lawton Stables. Since it is an older home it is kind of rough around the edges, especially in the kitchen, but functional. The rooms are small, so having 10 can be tight (table only has 8 chairs). If you are looking for a basic beach rental, this is fine. If you are looking for upscale and luxury, I would not recommend it. Washer and dryer are small, can only hold 2 pair of adult jeans, basically, so if you anticipate doing a lot of laundry (with kids), that is something to think about. Main concern, however, if there are small children, is the utility/mechanical area right off the kitchen, which does not have a door and has paint cans stacked right next to the water heater. The air handler/furnace is also exposed, with all kinds of other things stacked right next to it. This area NEEDS to be cleaned out and a door installed (clearly there once was). It was not a childproof situation, and the paint cans next to the water heater are a huge concern. They should be out in the detached garage. There is also a loose outlet in the living area. As a pet-friendly VRBO, this place served its purpose for our temporary needs, but I would not rent it again.

Lovely home!

First time staying in Sea Pines and we so enjoyed this home. Great location! It had all the comforts of home! The kitchen was well stocked with everything need med to cook meals! We look forward to renting I future.

Great pictures, disappointing house

1. Take flashlight for every person, walkway lighting (if you could call it lighting) is solar. Sunlight doesn’t reach the lights therefore, no walkway lights for the treacherous pathway, yes I did trip and hurt myself. 2. Not a Kurig coffee pot, take ground coffee 3. Inside pretty clean but needed to have cleaning people come and clean light fixtures so we could see. 4. Lots of mold on outside of house ( we were told it was because there had been so much rain in the past month). Management company actually had the house power washed while we were there because we complained. Wish they also cleaned the windows, they were real bad. 5. House is in a good location, bathrooms have been remodeled, new floors 6. Bikes left outside and aren’t in good condition 7. On the bright side, A/C works really good

Loved the house and property in Lawton Woods, Sea Pines. Great yard for our dog. Close to shopping, restaurants and golf courses. Overall, would definitely stay there again.

Mostly Great; Some good; a bit just ok

Overall, we loved it; we were able to have family visit us from time to time during our stay. The positives, from our perspective, are too numerous to mention. If you contemplate renting, here are the caveats. I would question the claim of "sleeps 10" as a bit optimistic. The most we had at any given time was 7; I felt that pushed the capabilities of the house to the limit (5 seemed a comfortable number). The wi-fi is "sketchy" which caused the streaming TV in the main bedroom to constantly "buffer" & drop out. Understanding the washer & dryer took more time than it should have. There needs to be a placard with "quick start" instructions. The owners store a lot of stuff in the closets, which limits their space to renters (since the garage is not available to renters - which I wish it was, because our car's exterior took a beating from all the tree sap & pollen - extra stuff should be stored there). The bath/shower plumbing needs work. Whenever the bath is turned on, water comes out of the shower (not terrible, but definitely an annoyance.). Lastly, unless you know the area well (and/or have a good GPS), do not travel at night as there is very little exterior lighting within Sea Pines (the house could benefit from more external lighting, as well). Understand that these are "work-around" issues for us, as our priorities were biking, beach, Lawton Stables & Forrest Preserve, & Pickleball (we found better options than at SouthBeach tennis). It all depends on your priorities.

Great vacation house!

We had a wonderful stay at this house. We loved the one story layout (our dog does not like stairs). The “kids room” with bunk beds was perfect for our three children ( 5, 3, and 10 months). It was really convenient having the four bikes and beach chairs ready to go. The beach is just over a mile bike ride away but the ride through the golf course was beautiful and relaxing. We were also very close to the horse stable (our kids love going for pony rides!). I did have some difficulty getting the washing machine to drain properly and the garbage disposal did not work. We made these reports to the management team. Otherwise the house was pretty clean upon arrival and everything met our expectations. I would recommend this house to any family looking for a spot at sea pines.

Sea Pines is awesome!

First, the things we loved! The quiet setting & privacy, the open family & dining rooms. All the appliances are very nice & the kitchen is well stocked. The flooring is very easy for pets, cleaning, & sweeping up! The important things to know: this home comfortably sleeps 4 adults and 5-6 kids (teenager & down) ….the bunk beds , trundles, and daybed really are not big enough for adults. The home needs a deep clean. I understand that it is a summer rental, but all the bedspreads and shams need to be washed and the light fixtures need to have the cobwebs cleaned out of them. We had a couple issues with the back sliding door not locking & the lamp post in the front not working, and the trash/recycling being missed, but the property manager was very responsive & addressed everything very quickly which we were very appreciative of! We really loved HHI and Sea Pines and will definitely be back, but realized we need more space for our family. We had 2 adults, a 20, 21, and two 18 year olds and it was tight. We had a really great time though!

Quiet Stay In Sea Pines

Pros: The property management company (Island Rentals) was fantastic. They answered when we had needs and even threw in little extras throughout our stay. They were accessible and prompt to address needs. The location is very close to Lawton Stables and the main roundabout on the island. Also, the neighborhood is quiet and private. Cons: If you’re planning to go with multiple families, you should know the rooms are all together at the end of the hallway, so there will be limited privacy. If you have little kids, be aware there are a lot of breakables low to the ground and the house is a bit smaller than the pictures suggest. Also, the neighbors reported us to security for parking on the “grass,” which was all rocks and pine straw. This sort of reporting is common in Sea Pines. Overall, the extra pricing from VRBO (services fees, etc.) makes this average rental (though quite clean and nice), more expensive than it should be.
