Brookeside our Cozy Cabin on the River.

Quiet retreat at the crossing of Black Run and Dry River in charming Rawley Springs. This property borders the water! Perfect base camp for hiking, fishing, writing, or relaxing on 1.5 acres. Only 15 minutes to the city of Harrisonburg for plenty of restaurants, shopping, and the JMU campus. Easy access to nearby wineries and breweries. Ideal for 1 or 2, but 4 can sleep comfortably with the addition of the living room single sleeper and a single floor mattress in the loft cubby space.
WE Do allow dogs but only with permission from your host and the Pet Cleaning Fee being included in the Reservation. Thank you for your honesty and understanding! :)

Over all we had an amazing stay and things were just as listed. There were some cobwebs around the light as soon as you come in and some trash under the sofa area when we moved it around to fit our blowup mattress. We always love our stay and definitely will be coming back

Amazing Host and Cabin!
Marcy's cabin was the perfect place to get away from the craziness of DC on July 4th. Our dog is absolutely terrified of fireworks and we didn't hear a single boom or pop while at the cabin. The cabin itself was also perfectly cozy and had everything we needed to cook and relax. While it feels remote, it's only a short drive from downtown Harrisonburg and some wineries. The swimming hole was a nice bonus, especially for our water obsessed dog. Lastly, Marcy was super fast to respond to us when we struggled to get the upstairs AC to work and helped us fix the issue in no time (it may, admittedly, have been user error - sorry, Marcy!). We'll definitely be back!

Amazing Weekend
If you’re thinking of booking, just do it! This cabin is perfectly located and has everything you need. We spent a glorious few days by the river, hiking nearby trails, and enjoying Harrisonburg. The cabin is comfortable and set up perfectly for a quiet and relaxing weekend. Fully stocked and clean it’s worth every penny. Really enjoyed our weekend there.

We had a great stay. The cabin is cozy and quiet against the backdrop of the river. It’s just far enough away from civilization without being too far away if you want to take a couple hours to visit a brewery or winery. Great hiking too. Highly recommend.

Everything about this place is wonderful - the cabin, the location, the host. It is so peaceful and yet still close to restaurants in Harrisonburg and many hikes (Shenandoah, Washington National Forest). The cabin is very well equipped and clean. We had an absolutely wonderful time and hope we are lucky enough to return :)

Everything is as shown in the photos. Very clean and cozy. We definitely plan to return. The sound of running water outside the door and the fireplace are two of my favorite aspects but there was truly nothing to complain about. Easy check in process and quick replies from the host. Cozy getaway
Perfect size to feel snuggled in the woods but with all the necessary comforts. The house was clean, well-stocked with necessities, and easy to enjoy. I loved the fact that it had its own kitchen despite the small size, and I loved the proximity to town. We enjoyed touring around Dayton and Harrisonburg. We would definitely recommend!

Cute remote cabin
The cabin is very cute and an excellent base with basic needs. Very close to Harrisonburg so there’s plenty to do, but still in a pretty remote area. The roads in the neighborhood are rocky and tight so be prepared for that. The cabin itself is a little smaller than I expected from the photos but very comfortable nonetheless. The staircase is a little treacherous so I don’t recommend staying here and planning to sleep in the main bedroom if you have mobility issues. Even just going to the bathroom in the middle of the night when my joints were slightly stiff was an adventure 😂. Wi-Fi works well but we did have some trouble trying to stream on Netflix. We didn’t really care though cause we had games with us and didn’t go there to sit around and watch tv in the first place. The property owner was great and super communicative. I never waited more than a couple minutes for a response to a message.

Overall great stay!
Nice cabin and location. The cabin was very clean and well stocked. The price was very reasonable. We were surprised to see a yurt so close. The description implied more privacy but otherwise our stay was great.

Amazing getaway
My wife and I loved this property. We came during the fall and the leaves surrounding the property was amazing. There's plenty to see within walking distance and there are also some great hikes nearby in George Washington National forest. The property was homely and cozy, definitely worth the visit if you want a weekend getaway.

We just needed a cozy, relaxing cabin in the woods for a weekend getaway and thats exactly what we got. The bed is very comfortable. The size is just right and it had everything we needed to have a stress free weekend. My boyfriend and i will definitely book this cabin again along with possibly booking the one next door that the same person owns.

I adored this VRBO location. Such a cute & quant cabin that took you out of your day-to-day and allowed for relaxation. The host provides everything you need including bathroom essentials, wifi, smart-tv, blankets/bedding, kitchen utensils, and firewood. We loved using the firepit to roast hotdogs one evening and enjoy the piece of the outdoors, the swimming hole was a sweet little find, and just allowed for such a homey feel to share with my partner for a long weekend. I hope we will be able to come back in the future!

Perfect short getaway
We loved being in the woods. Perfect place to getaway for a few days for our anniversary. The cabin is very quiet and the walk to the Blue Hole only takes a few minutes. We would definitely stay here again!

Such a relaxing cabin and trails to explore within walking distance of the cabin. Creek is amazing. We enjoyed swimming in the creek and meeting the locals. Our pup had a blast too. Perfect spot with no crowds. Hope to return some. Oh and the bed is so comfortable. The cabin felt like home.
