topsail

property has potential of being fantastic if grounds had care and maintenance. the beach location is perfect and the home is cozy comfortable. evenings were a bit distressing as we had a total of 1 hours worth of tv the entire stay. managements attempt to resolve the issue were appreciated. we did end up having to leave a day early and called for instructions for leaving premises, young lady was not real sure of instructions but was very nice and advised us to the best of her ability. the beach was fantastic and not crowded which made it most enjoyable.

Mother - Daughter trip

My 84-year-old mother and I spent 3 wonderful nights at this cottage. It suited us perfectly. It was the first time we had been to Topsail. The walkways to the beach do not extend as far as other beaches. There was a steep walk up the final dune which my mother was proud to conquer! The house is "tired" but lovely. Internet, water pressure, hot water, kitchen, decks, and beds were all top-notched. Would absolutely stay there again.

Quaint and cozy

Oceanfront, large deck and screened in portion. ◦ A few boogie boards and sand toys ◦ Stacked washer/dryer unit ◦ Hand soap, dish soap, scrubbing pad, DW soap and laundry detergent provided ◦ Kitchen adequately stocked with cookware. Small coffee mugs only ◦ Enough bath towels for each guest to have one large towel, one hand towel and facecloth ◦ Bathrooms with hand soap, travel size shampoo, conditioner and dove bar ◦ Comfortable primary bed ◦ Strong mold/mildew smell in queen bedroom ◦ Steps down to dunes have a large drop off with two 4x4s attempting to provide another step but definitely precarious. ◦ Only a few restaurants so we primarily cooked at the house. We very much enjoyed our dinner at Breezeway restaurant. We waited an hour for party of 5 arriving at 5:30 ◦ Nice to have a very small checklist for check out!

Great place

Perfect for our family with 2 adults and 2 tweens. Older property, but well kept. It was nice that the beds were already made and the towels were individually wrapped in sets. Someone with mobility issues may have difficulty getting to the beach. After you go down the stairs for the first dune, there is another dune to walk over. It was fine for us, but something to be aware of. Plenty of dishes. Nice outdoor furniture. Would stay again.

Beautiful

Property exactly as described, beautiful location and amazing view of the beach. My kids loved having the beach right out back of the house. I have to say this is one of the most relaxing places i've been too. Everyone on the island was so nice.

Perfect beach getaway

Just got back from a quick trip to celebrate the end of the school year. This house was exactly like the pictures. Nothing fancy, but the beds are fine, the AC is cold, everything works, it was clean, and the views are fantastic. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

it's a house on the beach

It's a house on the beach. Is it a 5 star resort? NO, but for what we were looking for it was absolutely perfect. 3 bedrooms, comfortable beds and right on the beach. Really nice views from the deck. It's an older property but it was very clean, and to us that was most important. The area is great - definately off the beaten path. A very relaxing stay!

Severely disappointed

Poor repairs, musty and dank bedrooms. Housekeeping was Not the problem. We tried airing out the house but the smell was terrible. We left a day early just to get away from the smell of mold. Little care was taken of this home. I would have changed cities to avoid this situation

4 day family getaway

First time using Vrbo and first time at this spot. Everything was a great or better than advertised. Cozy older bungalow, oceanfront - due to much needed dune replenishment to protect the cottage row there is bit more of a walk - essentially a little dune between the dune the house sits behind and the ocean - but does not detract from spectacular views from inside house, deck, screened in porch and rooftop deck. Just mention only because if you have older guests they may expect one set of steps down to beach instead of the extra row of dunes to walk over. We loved the place - clean, well maintained, all systems in working and top shape. Def recommend and would stay again - good value for the $$ for an oceanfront pad just 1 mile from Jolly Roger Pier and heart of Topsail Beach retail area.

Great older beach house!

This house is older but charming and was well stocked for all of our needs! Love the decks and screened porch with what appears to be new furniture and gas grill(we broke it in, grilling 3 nights!). Plenty of comfy seating, nice beds, lots of extra beach chairs and toys for use and great showers with hot water! My only problem was the distance to the ocean and the dunes that have been erected for erosion control. I understand and appreciate this necessity but would not have rented on this particular beach if I had known as my husband has some mobility issues and climbing the dunes and the long walk became exhausting. Had a good experience renting through VRBO and will gladly use it again!
