「The Utopia River Retreat was just what we needed after 3 nights camping out in Big Bend. The cabin we stayed in (Kickapoo) was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed (cooking utensils, bath towels, linens). The grounds were peaceful and scenic and had a nice swimming pool and volleyball net as well as riverfront access. 「I asked the host (David) before i booked if we could check in half an hour earlier than the posted check in and he said "of course you can" and then i booked our stay. 3 weeks later on the day of our stay i get e-mail from the host stating NO you can not check in earlier. I e-mailed back asking him why couldn't he tell me that earlier and not 2 hours before our stay after we were driving all day but i still have no reply.Otherwise place is ok if you're just looking to stay somewhere for a night 」

「The house is a cute set up. However, the listing does not say it’s across the street from a cemetery and church. The house was not very clean, and items left for guests like wash cloths, trash bags, towels are very limited. In the case of the trash bags & toilet paper the bags are thin and small even in the kitchen and don’t fit the trash can. The toilet paper is one ply. The bed was messy when we checked in. Grass burs on the floor. 」
