My order is under hotel name "Waikiki Beach Marriott"(as shown in the confirmation letter), but what I actually have is "Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach". They are totally two different hotels. The actual destination hotel was not what I expected; I remember using filters to search for hotels that were only 4 or 5 stars, but the one I found did not match that criteria, for it is 3 stars. I think I deserve a refund or compensation.

We recently stayed at this hotel in a suite for five people. The suite itself was fine, though definitely on the smaller side for a group of five. The pool area was nice, however it gets virtually no sun, which was a bit disappointing. I’ve been to Hawaii more than 10 times and have always experienced incredible hospitality and warm, welcoming service from front desk staff at other hotels. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. The woman who checked us in was rude and abrupt from the start. She had a nasty attitude during the whole check in process, and essentially seemed like she didn’t want to be at work that day. She rolled her eyes at every question we asked (which she as front desk staff should’ve explained anyway). She didn’t inform us that our room was located in a different block, and she watched us struggle to maneuver 12 bags into the elevator without offering a luggage trolley or any assistance. Her attitude felt unnecessarily cold and unwelcoming, despite us being polite and friendly. What made it more disappointing was seeing the guests next to us being warmly welcomed — amenities explained clearly, the destination fee outlined, and even complimentary drinks offered. We received none of that information or hospitality. Front desk staff set the tone for a stay, and having someone with that kind of attitude unfortunately detracts from the entire experience. I won’t be returning. Hawaii is known for its aloha spirit — I just wish we had felt it here.

Well at first I was super disappointed. I feel like Expedia is misleading as far as the room you receive at check in. We stayed in the room provided at check in for a few days. I went and chatted with the front desk and they were so kind and accommodating. The gave us a suite in the main tower with a very nice partial ocean view and a double balcony.

Staff was fabulous. Once we got to the room type that we were supposed to be in, we felt it was a great room for the price we paid. We even could see the sunset when we were in our room. Everyone was friendly, helpful and overall, great customer service. The pool does not get a lot of sun, so if you're looking for a sunny pool, it may not be a great fit. But it worked for us - we were barely there and wanted to spend time on beaches instead of the pool.

Only a few small things that made it 4/5. Housekeeping only came about twice during our 8 day stay, we had to keep calling down for towels and toilet paper. Other than that, really amazing nice well kept hotel. The common areas are gorgeous. I definitely should have made more use of the pool and the perks that come with the resort fees. But would 100% stay again. Room was great, location is perfect. Toilet paper was a bit rough to use, but a great stay overall.

Front desk was often rude, very short and pointed with their responses, and I called twice (prior to arriving on the island) and visited the front desk to request a pre-authorization form. The two phone calls, I was promised an email, never received. The first time I went in, gave the front desk person the email for it to be sent. She was EXTREMELY rude and insisted it would be sent, never received. Second time I went in I tried to ask again and she (same person) rudely explained that “we have the card on file when you booked so that’s all you need”…weird, because every other hotel requires it since it was for 5 rooms. I couldn’t even change the names on the rooms because “she was busy”… The overall experience sucked and I’ll probably not use that property again for anything!

I went into this reservation with low expectations cause previous reviews have been so bad. Overall, it was fine, but the staff at the front desk did seem not overly excited to help anybody. We had to wait two hours to check in when we got there because something was wrong with the “system“. We were put in the second tower, which only had one elevator and so there was always a long wait for the elevator, which was sometimes inconvenient. Our room was fine. We had to ask for bedding for the sofa bed and that took a while to come at night. The bathroom was a really strange design. There’s no barrier between the shower and the rest of the bathroom, so the floor is always really wet. Also, there’s basically only the basin and a small counter around that with three people sharing a bathroom. It was difficult to find room to put everything. The laundry machines weren’t working and no one could ever pick up the phone at the front desk and there was always a long line, but it did eventually get fixed since we were counting on washing clothes while we were there because my son was in a sports tournament all weekend. Overall, it was, I would say very average and nothing like a typical Marriott courtyard stay and certainly didn’t seem worthy of the Bonvoy brand.
