Humshaugh House. Keys to the Past Web Site: Humshaugh House was once known as the Manor House and was built in the early 18th century. However, there are traces of an older structure inside, especially the 1.2m thick central wall. This may be the remains of a 17th century bastle There are also traces of an earlier building in the garden wall.

Stayed over New Year and decided to stay and extra night as we felt so comfortable as staff and food were good. Room was a little small for a 'premium ' but adequate. The bar/ lounge is great, lovely fires and a lot of residents brought their dog, the staff engaged with all👍👍. Look forward to seeing ...

There has been a church on the site in Hexham, England, for over 1300 years since Etheldreda, Queen of Northumbria made a grant of lands to Wilfrid, Bishop of York.
