APA Hotel Keisei Ueno Ekimae Minami

"The hotel feels very new and somewhat self-serve. There are people in the front lobby, but they are there mostly to help you navigate the self check-in kiosks. There was a large queue of older European travelers checking in before me and they seemed to struggle with the self check-in process, and so it made for not the best first impression of the place. Once checked in, I found my room to be really small, but not atypical for Japan. Everything in the room was clean and comfortable and well laid-out to maximize use of the space. But the star of the hotel was the sento on the 14th floor. Not sure about the women's bath, but the men's was very nicely designed and there was an outdoor bath that allowed you to soak while enjoying the night air look out over Ueno park. There's nothing quite like a good soak to relax and revive after a long day of walking around this amazing city."
Asakusa Tobu Hotel

"We stayed here on our last night in Japan to be closer to Narita Airport (we were previously in Kyoto). Although this isn't the type of place we'd usually stay, I would still recommend it here (we're old so we like more quiet areas). It was as centrally located as a hotel could be to everything. It was right next to Senso-ji Temple, the subway stop was a block away, there were fun shops and restaurants everywhere with fantastic views of the Tokyo Skytree. The energy of the area was palpable and we loved seeing everyone walking around in kimonos! They also allowed us to store our luggage after we checked out until it was time for us to head to the airport, which we REALLY appreciated. Highly recommend this hotel."

"We had a wonderful stay at Hyatt Regency Tokyo Bay! The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel was perfect for our family, especially travelling with our baby. Excellent hospitality and a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend"

"I enjoyed my stay here very much, clean rooms and facilities, great location for seeing some Asakusa sights at night, which beat the daytime in ambience! I also love that I was able to step out into seeing Asakusa before the crowds arrived, which felt very calming and felt more authentic to me. Most importantly, the staff are very wonderful and welcoming, as well as helpful! I checked-in late due to delays and they were very understanding, as well, I received help from staff for bringing luggage upstairs check-in and before check-out as well. They were very polite and courteous and I enjoyed chatting with them, especially at check-in. It was a complete contrast from my previous stay in Akasaka, and I’m so grateful that this was my last stay before flying home :) One thing is that I had stayed in the same chain’s Kanazawa hotel recently and couldn’t help comparing them a bit, including the smaller rest areas after the onsen, but they also have massage chairs which the Kanazawa one doesn’t have. I would definitely recommend and stay here again in the future!"
