“Incredible place to stay. A remote and unspoilt location where your only company is monkeys seeing if through the trees all around you. Pool is incredible and villa interiors are sublime, though quite minimalist and thus not suitable for everyone. Staff are wonderful. Manager will bring very delicious rice and curry if you don’t want to cook for a fixed price per head which, given the restaurant prices in ahangama are v reasonable. Other than that it’s self catering which was new to us but……

“We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. We initially thought we wanted to stay directly on the beach but we were so happy we didn’t. It is just about a 15 minute walk away from the beach and you get to see so much more nature/natural beauty. The views from the restaurant are incredible and unparalleled by anywhere nearby, and we loved being able to see all of the birds, monkeys(2 different species and baby monkeys as well), and lizards from the property. “Loved this little bit of paradise. The pool and view is the highlight, very quiet and tranquil, a great place to relax and unwind. Great food, fresh and very reasonable. Quiet remote but taxi or tuk tuk is easy to arrange via the reception. Rooms vary, some have better lake views than others, but very clean and well arranged and a good size. Only negative is that there is no mini-bar so no easy to keep you water and drinks called, although you can always get ice from the bar. Suits couples more……

“We stayed for 2 nights, and we both thought that the food and the public areas were amazing. We also booked the yoga classes which were great. The bungalows are very cool, they are open, so you get a pretty unique experience. The beds are a bit on the hard side, this should be improved.”
