Beautiful property and tranquil location

We had a wonderful week at the Backrest in early May. The property has all the creature comforts you might need on your stay. The property is very cosy and warm and in a quiet location over looking the loch.

Beautiful home with 360 degree views of dunvegan area.

A beautiful, modern home situated in my favourite area of Skye with 360 degree views. It is close to both dunvegan & glendale which both have a general shop & beautiful nature & scenry. I highly recommend this home for an amazing nights sleep & it is by far the best holiday home we have stayed at while in Skye.

Amazing, again!

Our second visit and we just love this place so much. It’s in an amazing location, it’s spotlessly clean, furnishings are top notch, there’s just nothing negative to say. Mette is super lovely and communication is great, everything is clear and easy to understand- love the fact even the isolator switches for appliances have little labels telling you which is for which! The Backrest is an amazing place to stay on Skye, and I’m sure this won’t be our last visit. Thank you Mette & Sonia

Perfect for seal watching

Beautiful contemporary property with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Location is ideal for exploring northern and central Skye and the views over the loch are stunning & give lots of opportunities to watch the seals (sadly the otters weren’t playing when we were there) The property owner left great information about the house and the area both before our trip and at the house. A home from home in an amazing location

We had the perfect holiday on Skye staying at The Backrest and would highly recommend it. The house was so comfortable and warm, and provided everything we needed - and more. My favorite was the chairs in the window, perfect for watching the changing weather and enjoying the stunning scenery. The house was spotlessly clean, and we found all of the furnishings to be of the highest standard.The location is stunning, and excellent for venturing out to the amazing destinations that Skye has to offer. It was also handy having the facilities at Dunvegan nearby for all of those forgotten bits and pieces.The Backrest is a great dog friendly house to stay in, from the space for all of his bits and pieces, to the extra biscuit treats left out for him. Having a fenced in garden was also perfect for our puppy as it meant he could have his own adventures safely, and he found lots of new smells to get familiar with.We had a fantastic week and hope to visit again. Thank you to Mette, Sonia, and the pups for sharing it with us.

Perfection

The Backrest is the most amazing holiday home, modem, inviting and extremely well appointed. The views are out of this world with lovely walks around the loch right from the door. The Backrest is the perfect base to enjoy Skye, would highly recommend.

Fantastic Experience on Skye

Awesome property near Dunvegan with amazing views over a tidal ocean inlet. The house has floor to ceiling windows that make for excellent views of the ocean and hills in the distance - there are no other buildings to interrupt the landscape. The house has a ensuite master bedroom with king upstairs and an ensuite guest bedroom with a double on ground floor. Modern, recent construction with well equipped kitchen. Great location to explore Skye and good proximity to a choice of hikes and restaurants. Owner was easy to communicate with and the propery descriptions are spot on, highly recommended.

Amazing house, amazing view, amazing surroundings

Here is the translation: When we were on Skye last year, we passed by the house. It caught our attention, and we stopped to read the name. When we decided to return to Skye, it was without a doubt that we would spend part of our vacation at The Backrest. It did not disappoint. The house is bright and equipped with all conveniences. Everything is focused on ergonomics. It has lovely beds and fantastic chairs for endlessly looking outside. We fell in love with the big green chair 😁. In short, we had a wonderful stay.
