This property was beautiful and very well kept. One of my favorites thus far! Fishing was excellent and the cabin is very cozy with tons of room. Kim was very pleasant to communicate with and very quick to respond. We can't wait to come stay again in the future.

Perfect!
Everything you need plus some. We stayed with 3 boys ages 3, 6, and 8. This house had everything to keep us all entertained even when our outdoor plans where dampened by the weather a bit. The location itself is stunning, then to have all the amenities provided inside too was just top of the line! Very clean, very welcoming!

Great lakefront stay
Quiet, peaceful, and clean. Good fishing, great amenities, and a very cozy place for a lakefront getaway. The whole process was organized and simple, and the home has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Bait shop nearby, 10 mins from Spirit Lake.

Beautiful unique property on a quiet lake. We loved ever minute of it Loved the smell of the pines as you walk the property. Gorgeous view of the lake from the house. House was very comfortable with anything you would need. We hope to go back next summer!

Perfect family trip
This was the first vacation that my family has been able to take in a long while and it was wonderful! The yard was large enough to play games and have a fire and the lake perfect for our kids to kayak. The drive into Okoboji was short and easy and we found lots to do. With a large family, it's hard to keep everyone happy, yet they all can't wait to come back!

Friends Get-a-Way
We had 8 adults and 2 dogs spend 4 nights at Kim and Chad's cabin. We loved how secluded and private it was! The yard is huge and our dogs loved running around and going swimming. The water access was probably the only downfall since it is a steep climb down and only a rocky area to get in the water. The steps down and the dock are both well-maintained, so it was still nice to go onto the water! The best way is to use the Lily Pads they provide to jump onto to get into the water. The cabin itself was very nice and clean with quality furniture. The beds are all Sleep Number, so make sure to check the settings! We all slept with the setting at 100 the first night until we realized it was adjustable. All the different sleeping options were very nice so we were able to spread out with a spacious bed. The patio with the firepit right by it was our favorite place to hang out. Kim was very responsive and easy to get a hold of. Definitely recommend!

Quiet hideaway
This cabin was a quiet retreat away from the business of life. We felt like we had the whole lake to ourselves, hardly saw anyone else out on the water. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. Very fun place to stay.

From hanging out on the Maui pad to s’mores by the fire, we couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more! Beautiful cabin with everything we needed, even adjustable mattresses! I hope we can return in the future!

Well-kept lake home with top of the line beds and other amenities. We were very impressed with the supplies provided, especially the ice machine as we pretty much had everything we needed for the weekend. Loved the large yard and easy access to large dock area. We appreciate the fact that we could have our dogs to join in our family vacation.

MN pheasant Opener
My friends and I stayed at the Loon lake lodge for the 2022 MN pheasant opener. We had an awesome weekend and really enjoyed our stay! Chad and Kim were very easy to communicate with, which was great since we had some issues with the Vrbo sight. The place was clean comfortable and plenty of room. We will definitely be back again!!!

Perfect Relaxing Family Escape
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing vacation with his parents and our labradoodle. The cabin had everything we needed. Enjoyed playing cards on the big dinning room table as well as the deck. The fire pit down on the patio was perfect for evening smores and fishing off the dock was a wonderful pastime. The bedroom on the main floor worked great for his parents who don't love stairs, and we were happy to spread out downstairs in the other bedroom. Overall a wonderful stay and we plan to return!

Family Vacation
This is such a beautiful spot! This was our second time here and it was just as great as the first time. We have been coming to this lovely cabin for 3 years now and love it every year! It has character and charm, everything you could need and the lake is quiet and peaceful. We had great luck fishing this year too! Always great communication with Kim and Chad. Will be back next year!

We took our first trip with our 8 month old to this wonderful lake cabin. The hosts couldn’t have been more helpful and nice. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and comfortable. We stayed 5 nights and wish we could’ve stayed more. We will definitely book again.

We had a great time overall. Small issues with the grill and stove and we didn’t realize the kayaks on the premises don’t come with the cabin, but we loved the other amenities and the space and quietness. It’s definitely on our list as an option for next years family vacation spot.

Great with some minor instances
This is a beautiful property. Biggest issues were that the propane tank for the gas grill was empty. The second was on Saturday the property manager showed up to have some dock bumpers installed while we were hanging out. It should have been taken care of on Sunday after departure. As particular as he was about the awning over the deck and his property, the minor things should have also been on their list to check. I texted the owners after we left about the tank and never had a response. When spending about $1000 for 2 nights, I have no interest in the owners showing up and spending a couple hours on the property to install something that could have easily waited a day.

This is THE place!!
Loon Lake was the perfect meeting place for our family. The location is quiet, peaceful and has it all! Honestly, the pictures are beautiful, but can't even begin to capture the eyes-on beauty you will find at this little Minnesota gem. The hosts are incredible and didn't miss a beat with all the little details that really mean so much! We love Loon Lake Lodge! P.S. Our puppy was VERY disappointed when he realized we were just on vacation and hadn't actually moved to this magical grassy land of oak trees, birds, squirrels, bunnies and blue skies. On our list for a must re-do!

Our family ages 6-64 had a wonderful vacation. The cabin had plenty of room for all 7 of us. We had the lake to ourselves the whole stay. Put the Maui mats and kayaks to great use and launched our boat at the public dock only a minute away from the cabin. It was a quick easy drive into Okoboji and the Dickinson county nature center (which is free) and a must do if you have kids with you. We are planning to return next year. Owners were very friendly and responded quickly to questions - and really care that you enjoy your stay. My only suggestion - hand rails for steps leading to docks.

Private and Peaceful
All of our expectations were met during our stay. There is plenty of space for 10 people and having three different levels made everyone feel at home. The fire pit is perfect for relaxing under the majestic oak trees. We found ourselves hanging out there several times during our stay. Catfish was caught in Loon Lake and Spirit Lake was easy to access due to it's close proximity. The owners were responsive and helpful. We already booked next year's trip.

Absolutely perfect house for a relaxing week!
This house was so amazing and fulfilled all our hopes! It was nearer to the lake than we had thought which was super nice for quickly going between the lake and house! The dock was beautiful and not too close to other docks nearby. The attic in the house with the three beds was so beautiful and perfect for my 4 friends and I! If you want to run into Okoboji to shop or eat, it is only about 20 minutes away so not too bad! Such a great house and I strongly recommend!

Excellent cozy lakeside cabin!
Can’t say enough about this place-This was a great lakeside cabin! With Spirit Lake only a 10 min drive for groceries, dining, etc you can’t beat it! This stay was adults only but it would be a great location w/the kiddos too! The dock is excellent & spacious, only negative would be the stairs leading down were a little steep having no railing but it appeared they may be in process of installing some perhaps👍 The hosts were extremely responsive & kind!

Quiet Paradise
We spent 5 days, 4 nights at Loon Lodge and wanted to stay longer. Celebrated my husbands’s retirement, my birthday and reuniting with our daughter and granddaughters after being apart through the pandemic. Long drive from San Antonio with our Golden Retriever but well worth it. This home is a jewel with many amenities, including high grade linens and towels and comfortable beds. The pictures do not do justice to this property! It is truly breathtaking from all the large windows. The gas grill is large and we used it several times. The owners respond quickly to any questions and have this property pristine upon your arrival. The Keurig is fully stocked with a great selection of coffees. There is a HyVee grocery store 10 minutes from the house in Spirit Lake IA. You will not be disappointed with this property! I made reservations last September for May 2022. Make your reservations early! We LOVE Loon Lake Lodge!

The Easter cabin
We have rented this cabin for Easter for years in the past! The kids ages 12-24 and significant others have joined us. Everyone loves the place. And never has everyone in my family loved anything at the same time!! It is PERFECT!! And the fact that we can bring the family dogs to run and jump in lake is the best! We had a wonderful time at the Loon Lake Lodge. The property was very clean and isn't too "lived-in" or "worn-out" as some lake front properties can appear to have over time. Big Oak property at Loon Lake Lodge
This property has absolutely amazing Big Oaks and other trees around the house. The trees were the highlight of the trip. The house was clean and comfortable. The main room was excellent for reading in front of the gas fireplace and looking out over the lake. The kitchen had adequate utensils and we cooked for ourselves every night - had we realized how close we were to the HyVee in Spirit Lake we wouldn’t have carried quite so many groceries with us. The property was quiet, peaceful, and sufficiently isolated from neighbors. Some of this may have to do with the time of year (mid-February), but the trees on the property also serve to separate the house from the rest of the world. We brought two small dogs and they loved the environment. We will definitely book again.

Beautiful lodge
Stayed here for a few days with our friends. We had children and dogs with us. Everyone enjoyed it! Children loved video games! The lodge is beautiful and the view from the windows was our favorite part. Lots of space for everyone. Very comfortable beds and pillows! Overall, everything was great!
