Short visit to NYC

The apartment was perfect for us for a short visit to NYC before heading on to other places. It's very convenient for getting into Manhattan, and Washington Street has loads of nice places to eat and drink.

Really cute apartment. The steps were a little steep. I was glad I didn’t have a big suitcase!The neighborhood was nice and close to good restaurants and the PATH. We were able to walk everywhere. Overall was a really good place to stay

Excellent location

This apartment is situated in a fantastic location close to the path and just round the corner from many great restaurants and cafes. It was a lovely safe street. The apartment itself is a little tired and could do with decorating and some modernisation particularly in the bathroom but I guess that is reflected in the competitive rental charge. All in all we had a fantastic week.

Great alternative to staying in Manhattan

This apartment was perfect for us, two couples, visiting NYC. The apartment is one block from the main Avenue with frequent bus service to midtown Manhattan, getting you there in less than 20 minutes. Clean and bright with all the amenities for a comfortable stay. Mena supplied us with bagels and other breakfast items, as well as some snacks on the first day which lasted us for 4 nights. Hoboken is clean and quiet with restaurants, grocery marts and nightlife all within a short walking distance. Highly recommend this darling apartment.

great location is the best I can say

Let me start with the positive. The location is outstanding and the owner was quick to respond to questions. Unfortunately the positive pretty much ends there. Here is an honest assessment of the physical features of this property. 1. While the listing does state the property is a 3rd floor walkup, it doesn't advise as to how narrow and winding the stairs happen to be...particularly with luggage in tow. Plus the 3rd floor has NO landing. Be warned, if you are older (I'm 70), the stairs can be a problem. 2. There is not a comfortable place to sit in the entire unit. The folding chairs in the kitchen are so wobbly I felt as if they may collapse. The sofa in the living room is so tattered, the foam rubber cushion is clearly visible for the sofa's entire length. The faux wicker chair had a hard plastic back support that was painful to lean upon. 3. No furniture in the smaller bedroom except the bed and a portable A/C unit. No table or nightstand, no dresser or anything with a drawer. 4. Older building so electricity was retrofitted. Do not count on more than one available outlet per room. The smaller bedroom is serviced by an extension cord draped along the baseboard. Totally insufficient for 3 adults. I had much more to say but was limited to 1500 chars. I've been to many VRBO/HomeAway properties. This was the worst in my experience. Little investment into the property by the owner. Look elsewhere unless you want less than "hostel quality" accommodations.

Très bon séjour

Je ne compte plus le nombre de fois où je suis venu à New-York et j’ai testé à chaque fois un nouveau quartier. Cette fois-ci j’ai choisi Hoboken dans le NewJersey et je ne suis pas déçu. L’accès est tellement facile et rapide pour se rendre à Manhattan (grâce au PATH Train) que dorénavant c’est ici que je séjournerai. L’appartement était très propre, grand, bien placé dans un quartier super agréable et nous y avons passé un excellent séjour. Petit bémol, le petit déjeuner était indiqué comme offert dans l’annonce mais ce n’était pas le cas, vous devrez vous en occuper vous même. N’hésitez pas, c’est vraiment une bonne adresse.

Authentic stay in an old townhouse.

Good infrastructure around. 25 Minutes to get to NYC by bus. Quite hot in the summer, because it is upper level. But there was air conditioning in all rooms.

Great location, clean apartment

The location is great - half mile walk to the PATH train - 3 stops to 33rd St. It was very clean and the beds were very comfortable . It was also nice of Mena to leave some breakfast supplies. One note: we were 3 fit women in our 60's and 70's and did fine. However, the second flight of stairs are very, very steep and if you have difficulty with stairs, wouldn't be a good choice. We also appreciated the earplugs Mena left us as the neighborhood can be somewhat noisy.

Great location. This property provides all the basics and allowed us easy access to every place we wanted to go in Hoboken. We were visiting our son @ Stevens and it is an easy walk to campus. We parked our car when we arrived on Friday and didn't get in it again until we left Sunday.

Hoboken apartment

Overall the property was exactly as described. Very cute and charming apartment. It was great having breakfast items. It was close to Washington St. for restaurants and stores as well as the path train to go into city and Only issue were with the shower. It wouldn’t maintain a consistent temperature. It would switch from hot to cold throughout a shower regardless of trying to adjust hot/cold handles.
