A great place to escape.

First, the house was spotless and well maintained. There are many places to sit outside, which allows for different light and views. Wildlife is common, from small lizards to jackrabbits, coyotes, and once we caught a glimpse of a bobcat passing by. We feel safe there, and the house is really comfortable. The location is good, outside the main part of town, but still close to JT. It also makes it easy to head toward 29 Palms park entrance if the line to get into the park is long in JT. We've stayed here several times and always choose to come back if it's available.

This property was perfect. The view was mesmerizing, and it had a nice variety of spaces to relax in. Beds were amazingly comfortable. We have already recommended it to friends and we are looking forward to staying there again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Colin’s place. It is beautiful, clean and spacious. The location is close to JNP entrance. My favorite part was sitting in the jacuzzi in the evening gazing at the stars.

Breathtaking views!

This property is a great little spot on a hill in the desert. Very private with breathtaking views. The accommodations were accurately listed and better than expected. Just a 5 minute drive to shopping and restaurants and 20 minute drive to the national park and other restaurants.

Very Peaceful!

Brought my husband here for a quiet getaway for his 70th birthday and it was the most amazing setting and so peaceful! We played pool, which is his favorite game, walked the neighborhood, soaked in the hot tub looking at the stars and had a nice fire. We didn’t even want to leave. It was a much needed getaway.

Wonderful Place!

Great location, beautiful views, spacious & comfy, good AC, nice outdoor fireplace (bring firewood), lovely green grounds. We were visited by Roadrunners, Quail, desert Doves, Jackrabbits, Ravens, Hummingbirds, and so many bees in the trees. A long well-maintained dirt road leads directly to the house. 5-mins to Natural Sisters and Crossroads Cafe. Can't wait to return. A magical place.

The house had a fully stocked kitchen which was great for cooking! The house was in a good location and clean. Bathrooms could be updated and where the pull out sofa is could use curtains or shutters as it’s not ideal for someone to sleep. But everything else was really nice! I would go back!

This house and property are AMAZING. The grounds are immaculate, well landscaped, beautiful sunrise and sunset views, and the property was spotless. Check out was easy, instructions very clear for everything. This house also had more household amenities than other properties we have stayed at-trash bags, shampoo/conditioner/soap, dish soap, basic spices, laundry detergent. Owner was incredibly nice and responsive. This home and property are truly special and feel like a real desert property.

Pictures don’t do it justice!

This property was phenomenal; immaculately clean, excellently appointed, and convenient location with plenty of privacy! Nice cookware, wonderful linens, million dollar views in a safe, friendly neighborhood (I was totally comfortable walking by myself for miles). Colin was immediately responsive to any questions we had and was so helpful and welcoming. Check in was a breeze, check out instructions were simple, and the home is even more amazing than advertised! Of note, the reference to distance from the park is as the crow flies. To walk to the national park on the roads is more like a mile and to go through an entrance station you’ll have to drive about 15 min, but it’s a short east commute and well worth it. We’d stay again anytime!

One of Our Favorite Rentals EVER!

Wanted a few quiet days around Joshua Tree and fell in love with this place as soon as we saw it on VRBO. As beautiful as the pictures were, they in no way captured the true essence of The Outpost... its serenity. Rarely would you hear any noise other than the birds, we spent a lot of time just wandering around the yard and neighborhood admiring the various plant life & other unique houses. Of course, the hot tub was a true delight (wish there had been more stars, sigh). Our only complaint was that the 2nd bathroom is off the kitchen and not near the 2nd bedroom, making late night visits inconvenient. Not a big deal, just wanted to mention it. If we're ever in the area again we would definitely look to book this place, it was perfect!

A special place in the beautiful desert.

A really comfortable and well appointed house. We especially loved the sun room, where we could sit on the sofa and watch wildlife. There are several outdoor sitting areas as well, so we could pick and choose our view. We saw a roadrunner hunting, 3 jackrabbits hanging out, lots of quail, small lizards skittering around, a coyote trotting down the road. We spent a lot of time just watching wildlife and soaking up the desert. A good place.

Everything we hoped for and more for our stay in Joshua Tree

Collin’s home in Joshua Tree was everything we thought it would be from looking at the property listing, and so much more. The setting is incredible and the property takes full advantage of it. The views are spectacular. Collin has paid attention to every detail and from the moment you walk in the front door you feel welcome and comfortable. The home was spotless on arrival and the AC was set to ensure it was cool after our drive. We were there during a heatwave and at no time were we uncomfortable, as the AC and fans throughout kept us cool. The kitchen is fully equipped with literally everything, and it is all in tip-top condition, as is the rest of the home. The entire property clearly shows the owner’s love for the property and attention to details to make your stay special. We enjoyed the hot tub under the stars and meals al fresco on the patio watching the local wildlife cross the property. We caught the sunsets in the comfy chairs out front. The desert light at sunset turns everything such an amazing color of gold. All that and comfy beds too! We hope to return soon, we came back home so relaxed. Our stay was perfect!
