- Treat yourself to a romantic getaway or relaxing break in an atmosphere of luxury and indulgence, amid a tranquil and picturesque natural landscape.
Only five minutes from the centre of the vibrant and fascinating village of Bellingen, Afterglow Cottages nestles among 30 acres of rolling green hills and native woodland in the beautiful Kalang River valley.
You can choose to stay in our architect-designed Moodys Creek Cottage or the lovingly renovated old dairy - both now spacious self-contained one-bedroom cottages where quality new fittings and furnishings create an atmosphere of comfort and simple elegance.
Afterglow’s two cottages have full kitchen, air-con, queen-size bed, double shower with a view, large deck with BBQ and spa.
Enjoy the sunset over the surrounding hills from your own private deck, indulge in a luxurious spa under the stars or simply relax and watch the abundant native birdlife and the wallabies that often graze on the grassy slopes at dawn and dusk.
Afterglow offers a perfect base for exploring Bellingen and the surrounding countryside – from World Heritage rainforest, cascading waterfalls and stunning beaches to the town’s vibrant cafes, famous festivals and friendly community markets

Romantic getaway
We absolutely loved our stay at afterglow. The peaceful surrounds, well equipped accomodation and kind hospitality of the host were highlights. We enjoyed the delicious food in the township of Bellingen and the national park at dorrigo, both of which are only a short drive from afterglow.

Magnificent Retreat
The only complaint we have is that it was way too short! The cottage which had everything and more was just magnificent. The beautiful interior and exterior, nature and your friendly welcome was top notch, thank you!

Serenity
A beautiful location, complete solitude and silence , perfect for de-stressing! Wonderful amenities and a welcoming wine and nibbles. Then there is the Eggs and Bacon breakfast!
Lots of different birds and a few wallabies inhabit the property and the Spa at night, provides relaxation under the stars.

Wunderbar in der Natur gelegenes Häuschen mit traumhaftem Garten und großer Terrasse. Als Haustiere hatten wir Papageien und Wallabies. Im Haus ist ebenfalls sehr viel Platz und alles Nötige vorhanden. Agnes ist eine sehr nette und kommunikative Gastgeberin. Eine tolle Unterkunft!

It was even more beautiful then the photos! Incredible! Absolute five star quality in every way. Lots of little unexpected bonuses provided by the host. Stunning location. Secluded, peaceful and very private. 100% would recommend!

Just us and nature
This truly was a stay to remember, 2-nights was not long enough. Afterglow exceeded our expectations by a mile!
Agnes personally welcomed us upon arrival, and left us some beautiful products within the fridge to enjoy during our stay. The cottage itself was clean and decorated beautifully. We enjoyed showers looking out at nature, and spent hours within the outdoor bath enjoying wine and each others company while taking in the stunning view. It was incredibly quiet, all you could hear was the birds chirping and the odd car going past.
The location of the properly was very close to Bellingen and other surrounding towns, so getting around was very easy. I feel there is so much more to say, but this sums it up perfectly. Just an amazing stay, and we will definitely be back. Thank you!

Will be back!
Agnes is a wonderful host. She's so friendly and helpful. The property was perfect for us to celebrate our anniversary. Close to national parks and lots of hikes. We loved the spa bath in the deck, and spent many hours in it watching the stars. The only noises was nature - and the odd car going past on the road. We will go back!
