“Lovely property, very convenient for Windermere area. It was handy that all three bedrooms have their own ensuite. It was lacking a little in kitchen utensils if you wanted to properly self-cater. There were some odd little items missing like hand soap in the bathrooms and only one toilet roll in each room, but otherwise clean tidy. It was particularly hot when we were there, so a fan or two would have helped. The door closers could do with adjusting - a couple of the doors slammed loudly if……

“This is an excellent house in superb state of repair with very good quality furniture. It is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The booking process was simple and Martin Wardle of the agents was extremely helpful. The house is situated in a village which is very near Kendal, the lakes and just over one hour to the Solway coast. There are some very good dining places in the area with our favourite being The Watermill Inn which has its own micro brewery producing very tasty beers. All in all……

“Cottage lovely and warm when we arrived. Could not get our heads around the wood burn. Bed is a touch low and bottom frame and drawers under bed likely to cause serious damage to toes and feet.Was very cosy.”

“We had a wonderful five-day stay at Tawny Cottage in Portinscale in mid-May. The cottage was spotlessly clean, very cosy, and it was such a lovely touch to find the heating already on when we arrived. The kitchen was exceedingly well equipped, which made self-catering easy, and the beds were very comfortable, so we slept really well throughout our stay. The location was excellent too - close to The Farmer’s Arms, a traditional pub serving good food, and with easy access to Keswick while still……

“A very comfortable apartment with spacious accommodation and well equipped kitchen plus extras such laundry facilities. The lounge and dining area is good. The bedroom is large with very comfortable bed and everything needed. The bathroom is beautifully done with large walk in shower. The only observation I would make for the benefit of others is that the two sets of stairs might be tricky for some. Booking was easy and customer service excellent with friendly and helpful staff.”
