Perfect Winter Getaway
My husband, two dogs and I came to Ketchum for a 5 day (4 night) weekend to cross country ski. This cabin was the perfect base camp. It is quiet and peaceful, the surroundings are beautiful and the cabin was the perfect size for us. It has a rustic feel but has all the amenities and luxuries (hot shower, kitchen to cook dinner and a wonderfully comfortable bed) that you could want. I love that this is dog friendly - being able to bring our dogs enhanced our experience immensely. One of our favorite parts was making a fire every night and listening to the crackle as we unwound on the couch. Highly recommend this place and hope to come again!

Thanksgiving Getaway
Great place and location. Very hospitable hosts. Loved that we could take our dogs. But nowhere did I see information online that indicated we could not leave our dogs unattended for an hour or two. I did see it in the rule book provided by our host when we got to the cabin. If we had been instructed on this prior to going we probably would have looked for a different place. Perhaps in future “dog friendly” could include a variation on this policy. Like “kenneled pups” may be left unattended in cabin for an hour or two?” Many thanks for sharing your property with us.

Wonderful Cabin!
We loved this cozy cabin in the woods, especially all the windows letting in the beautiful greenery from outside. Being so close to Frenchman’s hot springs was a bonus. There is a warm feeling about the Emerald Gem. Looking forward to returning!

The perfect mountain cabin!
I feel so lucky to have discovered the Emerald Gem! My husband and I, along with our dog, stayed four wonderful days and we only have positive things to say about this cabin and its location. We loved being surrounded by gorgeous trees while enjoying the calming sounds of the nearby creek. The cabin was super clean, 100% dog-friendly, comfortable, and very well-appointed. I had stayed at this cabin before in winter and had a great time. It is even better in the summer! Great quiet location with nice outdoor spaces. I enjoyed listening to the creek. The cabin was perfect for me and my dog. Will rent again.

a gem in the woods
spent 9 delightful nights in a rustic cabin. very comfortable, cozy and spacious for 2 people. was not lacking for anything. we would either bike or hike for several hours (not from there) and come back and hang out and relax. never went out for a meal as didn't feel like driving 18-20 minutes back to town. would definitely stay again. also, the owner's were quick to respond to any questions if I had any.

Great Winter Family Get Away
We thoroughly enjoyed our little winter get away in Sun Valley. Downhill skied, cross country skied, went sledding, dog park adventure and sitting in the hot springs!! The cabin was a great base camp!! Can’t wait to come back again!!

Great place
Spouse and I took our first 2 week vacation in years and could not have found a better place to stay. While "small", it was the perfect size for the two of us and our dog. Great place to return to after snowshoeing or great place to just sit and read a book. Would definitely stay here again, and in a different season.

An Idaho Gem Indeed!!
This is the quintessential "cabin in the woods"!! It is a sweet little cabin with a lovely deck and incredible surroundings!! You will find it hard to pull yourself away from the deck, while listening to the creek babble along across the road, watch the deer wander by, and laugh as the chipmunks taunt your dogs (this is not their first rodeo!!)! Thank goodness for that fire pit on the deck that allows you to sit just an hour our so longer, after the sun sets and the coolness of the crisp autumn air surrounds you!! The cabin is well appointed and has everything you could possibly want...a well stocked kitchen, games, cozy couches, a comfy bed, and a wood stove to top off the entire ambiance of your cabin in the woods! More than a cabin, this place feels like your home away from home the moment you walk through the door!! I would love to know the history of this cabin...I'm certain it has one...but alas the wooden floor just creaked and moaned and kept its secret to itself! A BIG thank you to the hosts for allow dogs of ANY size!! Not all of us own a dog that is under 30 pounds...which seems to be the limit for most rentals! Our golden, Grace, absolutely loved sniffing around and exploring and found it difficult to leave the deck as well! We can hardly wait to return!! Autumn was a beautiful spectacle in the Warm Springs Creek valley....but another season may be calling! ;)

Perfect getaway cabin!
Emerald cabin is a literal gem. The pictures do not do the cabin justice. We really appreciated how dog friendly it was with dog bowls/poop bags/treats/spare leash/lint roller etc. The cabin is it such a great spot, feels private and remote but easy access to downtown Ketchum. We used the creek across the street everyday which was so great for us & our dogs. The host was very quick to respond & answer any questions we had. We absolutely would recommend this stay!

Perfect Peaceful Retreat!
We stayed at the Emerald Gem with our 2 fur babies for a week in August. It was perfect, from beginning to end. It was so peaceful and quiet, but close enough to Ketchum and the Sawtooths to not be a hassle getting to the places we were hiking. The beautiful hot springs down the road were an amazing addition to our stay. We didn't use the fire pit on the front deck b/c it was pretty hot when we were there, but hopefully we will be back one day in cooler weather to enjoy it! Gabriela and Tami were super responsive the one time I had a question - but everything was so well cared for and so well explained, we really didn't need them for anything. So sorry we left the apples in the fridge! we were halfway to Reno when we remembered them! :-)

We really enjoyed the place except the internet was not working and that really caused us some problems w our travels. Communication w the host was great but there is no phone service at the location so without working internet it made things difficult. House was clean and loved the location. There is one large room for sleeping and no window coverings for the light, this made getting kids to sleep when it doesn’t get dark until late pretty difficult. We loved all the games and the cozy clean house. We would come again!

Loved everything about it!!!
Directions were great to find this cozy cabin outside of town. Loved the open feeling with all of the windows to take in all of the surroundings. It was so quiet and peaceful. Kitchen was amazing. Communication was great and I would’ve love to stay longer! Would definitely come back!

Lovely cabin
The cabin is so thoughtful done, very cozy but spacious. The kitchen is beautiful and well stocked. There was a small issue with the house the day of our arrival and Tami and Diane were so proactive and accommodating in fixing promptly. The location is so ideal for skiing at Sun Valley and going to Fisherman's hot springs as well as great backcountry access.

Shhhh!- don’t tell anyone
The Emerald Gem is a GEM. Cute, cozy cabin in the woods. Quiet location. Comfortable bed, warm fireplace, great small kitchen and bathroom. We will for sure be back! Perfect for a couple or small family. Celebrated our son’s 24th birthday- skied, snowshoed, hot soak in the natural warm spring up the road, and great meal at the brewery in town. We will be back to the Gem for all of these reasons and the homey, personal feel of the place. Thank you owners/property management. So great!

Great cozy cabin!
We love the cabin! It is somewhat rustic, very cozy, and well appointed. Nice little wood stove with wood supplied. Easy drive to Ketchum. Nice front porch. Comfortable bed. Well supplied kitchen. We look forward to going back!

Beautiful green cabin
The cabin is wonderful and is well appointed. You will have need of nothing because they have it all there! Sitting next to wood stove is so relaxing and and then neighborhood is so quiet. You are not far from Frenchman hot springs and close to town. Thank you for a great getaway place.

This was a very peaceful and relaxing way to spend a few days away from the every day hustle. Cabin was well stocked and in a great location to enjoy nature and outdoor activities. Our dogs also gave it paws up!

Truly special
Our stay at the Emerald Gem was absolutely perfect. The hosts provided excellent directions, which we appreciated since we arrived after dark. They had the lights on for our arrival, making the cabin bright and welcoming and easy to see. We loved all the extra touches inside the cabin: Fresh flowers, customized hand soaps, the emerald green dishware. The cabin was well-stocked with everything we needed and we were able to settle in and enjoy every minute of our stay. We loved going for hikes in the forest behind the cabin and were even treated to some beautiful October snow during our final 2 days. Absolutely magical.

Escape to peace, quiet, nature, tranquility!!
I love this little cabin. It is so cute with all the amenities that you could want. My daughter and her two handicapped daughters were with me. One is in a wheelchair but we managed to get her up the two steps to the cabin. There was enough room inside to wheel her around. We sat outside in the evening with a fire in the outside fireplace and told "ghost stories" and roasted marshmallows. We imagined "Chucky" hiding in the bushes. On the way home from town one day we saw a moose drinking in the creek. What fun!!!!! We will be back! Mary Ann

My boyfriend and I rented this cabin for my birthday and we absolutely loved the cabin. It was so cute, clean and cozy. We loved that it was tucked away and private but not a far drive from town or the hot springs. We will definitely be booking again in the future. Gabriella was so accommodating and quick to respond to any questions or concerns, I would absolutely recommend staying here!

This cabin is in a remote area that is so peaceful yet close to hikes and biking. The cabin is so well stocked and provides lots of extras. We played a lot of darts, crochet and games. Enjoyed the decks, hiking up the hill in the back yard and listening to Warm Spring Creek. We will definitely be back!

Such a dream little cabin
Our stay was amazing. We usually don’t spend much time at rentals when we travel but this cute cabin had everything you needed to relax and enjoy yourself. Very well equipped and clean. Such a gem as the name suggests. Hosts were wonderful too. I am looking forward to the opportunity to stay here again in the future.

The Ketchum home has all the charm of a cabin, but is appointed like a luxury appointment-- especially with regard to the kitchen. Our family spent a terrific week here. The property was a great jump-off point to explore and enjoy natural and cultural attributes of Sun Valley, Hailey, and the region.
