Family Time

This was a great location to whale watch off the lanai or go to the Humpback Whale Sanctuary. Great place to relax while on vacation.

Everything was smooth, easy, and fun

With my two young adult daughters we enjoyed local food, tour excursions of Road to Hana, Maui Gold Pineapple Farm, and a luau in Kihei. The girls enjoyed poolside basking in the sun and we all marveled at the amazing sunsets. Local dining and picking up fresh Ahi poke at the supermarket was outstanding. Everything was smooth, easy, and fun. While it all put a decent dent in my wallet, coming from New Jersey on a bucket list vacation, it was everything we hoped it would be and more. The accommodations were a significant part of our relaxed and happy time in Kihei.

We loved our stay and will stay here again.

Although this is an older building, as many are, the BBQ, pool, rooftop, elevators and grounds were extremely well maintained. The unit was very nice. We are 2 moms and 2 teens. The kitchen is narrrow, but we made it work, great ice maker. They have lots of books, and games, puzzles, beach chairs, rolling cooler, 3 TV's, comfortable queen, twin beds for the teens and sleeper sofa. Loved the AC in all rooms with separate controllers. Pool was beautiful and lagoon/beach so nice as well. Kitchen was very well appointed and had everything we needed. Definately could improve it with better knives and rugs definately need deep cleaning. Patio and single bedroom closet door difficult to open and could use servicing. A/C condenser on lanai was very hot if A/C was on. No light on lanai for evening enjoyment. Overall we loved our stay and would definately stay here again. Our 3.5 hour drive to Hana was long, but beautiful, but lots of hairpin turns and we could not see Black Sand Beach because we needed a reservation.

Menehune 606

This is an older property that has been partially remodeled with nice bathrooms and showers. The kitchen hasn't been remodeled and is difficult to maneuver around in for 4 adults. We made it work ok for us by taking turns in the small space. The property manager was not able to accomodate us when we asked about making up the twin beds into a queen or king for the other couple with us. The twin beds were not very comfortable for adults but would probably be ok for kids. Most of the unit was of average cleanliness but the rugs inside were so dirty that when going barefoot inside the bottoms of our feet would turn black. The area itself is ok and the fish pond next to the facility is great for kids. We love Maui and always enjoy our time here.

Nice location

This condo was in a very nice location. Our condo unit faced the ocean, which was very nice and had a beautiful view. The condo is relatively small and not a lot of room. The washer and dryer were in one of the bedroom areas which made it hard for the rest of us to access. There seem to be a lot of rules at this condo association, and they were not all spelled out in the instructions. We had a neighbor come up and asked us to be quiet while we opened and closed our patio door. This was sort of beyond our control as we did go in and out of the Patio door relatively often. And we were not being particularly loud. There were also several rules at the pool about not being loud children not playing games, which I thought was a little ridiculous.All in all of this condo is very nice but very small and we were supposed to check in upon arriving, and it seemed the office was never opened when we were available. Their hours were so that we would miss them.

The unit was very nice in appearance. It is not the most spacious unit, but the size was also not a deal breaker. We had to reach out to the property manager for some extra pillows and a baking sheet. We had 5 people in our party and there were no pillows designated for the sofa bed. There was no baking sheet provided for baking in the oven. The property manager wasn’t sure if they could accommodate those requests. They did deliver 2 extra pillows but no baking sheet. The kitchen left a lot to be desired. The cookware was usable but was by no means enjoyable to use. Everything in the kitchen felt like an afterthought. We cook in most of vacations, enjoying ocean front dining from the balcony, so kitchen comforts are appreciated. Speaking of the balcony, it is nice, but small. Also, to enjoy it best, the air conditioning inside should be off so that the hot air from the air conditioner unit on the balcony is not blowing directly on you while outside. Also, the sliding glass door to the balcony did not stay on its track well and was difficult to open and close. It made noises when the wind blew and would wake our son up who was sleeping in the living room. The living room was not an ideal place to sleep. There were no blinds to keep it dark, the sofa bed was deplorable (thin mattress, old - we purchased an air mattress for him to sleep on), and the sliding glass door made noises. The 2 bedrooms were nice and did not have any issues.
