Excellent breakfast really good variety everything cooked and presented very well, lovely staff especially Nial.rooms very clean (unfortunately my carpet had been burned by someone using straightners) otherwise everything was perfect. We were unfortunate that due to family circumstances we were there over a bank holiday so the Saturday Sunday room rates were quite expensive where as the Monday Tuesday were very good. I would definitely stay here again.

The location was perfect to walk to all the sites and to many, many restaurants and pubs. The lobby and bar area are lovely. The room was quite spacious. The bed was comfortable. Shower water was hot and strong flow. I loved the toiletries, kettle, bottled water, and variety of coffee and tea options in the room. It was so close to everything! The staff were absolutely incredible! Excellent customer service and very welcoming. I will definitely be back!

No hot water to shower.
Would not recommend staying here. There was no hot water on the evening we arrived so we were not able to shower. When we informed the receptionist (who came to the room to check) he shrugged his shoulders and said there was nothing he could do about it. I am aware cold exposure is very popular trend these days but this is simply not good enough. Stay somewhere else.

Hi Mark- Thank you for your review. I do apologise that you weren't able to shower due to no hot water. I do apologise that the receptionist on duty wasn't able to help with the situation but depending on the time of day this was we usually cannot get a plumber in the afternoons/evenings especially on Friday's and they usually call the following day. Our plumber did call the following day around mid afternoon after your departure he found there was hot water and nothing wrong with our tanks. He said it could have been everyone in the hotel was using the hot water at once and sometimes then it takes a while to refill our hot water reservoir. I have made sure our hot water is on for longer so this does not happen again. This is no excuse but I just wanted to explain that this situation doesn't usually happen. I do hope you do decide to stay with us again and if so please do ask for myself & I will make sure to look after ye. Thank You,Jessica MurphyManagement

My room was spotless and clean and comfortable. I had a kingsize bed and it was perfect. I could hear a few drunk people outside even with windows closed. Overall slept well. Breakfast was lovely & staff were all professional and helpful.

I highly recommend The Kilkenny Inn to anyone who visiting Kilkenny. It's a 30 bed property within walking distance to all city amenities. It's a modern, comfortable and impeccably clean property with private parking. Breakfast was excellent and we found the staff to be most helpful at all times. Looking forward to staying here again in the future.

Three stars is generous
My husband and I stayed in Kilkenny for 1 night and was surprised to find that this Inn was lacking in many ways. For example, there was only one available outlet in the room (unless you want to unplug the lights) and not even 1 in the bathroom. The bathroom sink had no hot water. There wasn’t any clock or alarm. The windows don’t close completely and the carpet was dirty. The bar in the hotel was completely closed. Needless to say, the pictures portrayed for this hotel are deceiving. We expected small and simple, but this is more like a budget motel in terms of class. Disappointing.

I do wish you would have outlined some of your issue's during your stay so we could have rectified them. You were made aware that our bar was closed due to renovations within plenty of time before your stay, so that if it did not suit you, you could have cancelled. Enjoyed my stay......
Overall, the stay was very good. Though the hotel may be just off the main "tourist" areas, the walk to anything in town was only 5-10 minutes if that. Room was comfortable, clean, water was hot, all things you could want. Have no complaints and would definitely stay here again without hesitation. The only drawback I would say is that some, not all, of the reception employees where not always the most friendly.

Excellent hotel, right close to all attractions. We really enjoyed that we could park the car and walk to everything we wanted to see and do. Beautiful view of the St. Canice Cathedral at night. Quiet location, slept with the windows open. Would recommend.

My wife and I added Kilkenny to our itinerary as a way to break up our trip between Killarney to northern Dublin. Therefore, we treated this hotel as simply a place to sleep and shower before heading off the next day. No bells and whistles here. Just an OK place to rest before moving on. *Restaurant was closed. Needed to walk into town for food, but we planned on doing this anyways.
