Thanksgiving celebration

We had a wonderful stay for the thanksgiving holiday with the whole family. The house was awesome - very clean , spacious , great location , hot tub was added bonus as well as the ping pong table! Would highly recommend this house to future renters !

Great location and lovely views. The house was poorly maintained: jacuzzi in primary bath on top floor didn’t work and ceiling of bedroom below was heavily damaged. Safety gates to pool didn’t work (unable to reach maintenance so purchased tools and fixed it ourselves), kitchen is poorly stocked for a house this size. On the plus side, when a toilet overflowed, maintenance did respond quickly.

Bad Upkeep of Property

The first thing that you notice when you walk up the stairs into the main living room is that the windows were so nasty that you could not see the view. The dishwasher was full of dishes, the bed covers had a smell, and there were still an old deodorant container sticking out from under the bed. This is a beautiful property that is not being taken care of as it should be. I know its on the beach, and in a sometimes bad environment but there is no excuse for the lack of effort in general housekeeping.

Rented this property managed by KEES. Multiple issues with the place when we showed up. Granite counter top cracked in half. Door knob to master bath toilet broken. Couldn’t access the toilet until I got a screwdriver to remove the knob. Piece of furniture upside down with a broken leg. No propane for the grill. All of these issues were immediately reported to KEES. KEES apologized and said they would immediately send someone out. Two days go by and I heard nothing. I follow up. KEES apologizes again and says they have escalated. Two more days nothing. I followed up again and never heard back again. I asked for at a minimum a refilled propane tank but they couldn’t even do that. Be prepared you are paying for beach front location only. Don’t expect anything from the property management company.

Buyer Beware

First, the management company didn’t send us the code for the door so luckily we convinced the cleaning crew to let us in, but the cleaning crew left without cleaning much of anything. There was food all over the floor, no towels, toilet paper or soap in the master bath, and trash all around the outside of the house. The shower door in one of the bathrooms is falling off the hinges and the boardwalk to the beach is a death trap. If you have young kids, be careful. If you’re lucky only one will need a tetanus booster after cutting their foot open on a rusty nail (which happened to my nephew). The third floor balcony railing is literally being held together with zip ties, I kid you not, so don’t lean against it. None of the ice makers work so plan to bring plenty of ice from the store. The washing machine was leaking and when we informed the management company, they sent a handyman who just walked in the house without a word and we had to tell him to get out and come back after we checked out. Like other people who reviewed this house, the management company said they would consider giving us some form of “compensation” for our inconvenience, but I haven’t heard anything since we left and I’m not holding my breath. The location is great and we enjoyed the pool, but that is about the only good thing I can say about this property. If I owned this house, I would be embarrassed and would immediately fire the management and cleaning company. And watch out for the roaches.

Unsafe & Needs Repairs

We cannot recommend this property to future renters without disclosing the many issues that we discovered throughout our stay. All issues we were aware of from the previous renter’s review were not fixed as we were told they would be by Kees. When we arrived, we found a dead cockroach in the hallway & many live ones that would come out at night. The 3 tier deck was rigged with a PVC pipe holding up the landing which was discovered when a family member almost fell through.This is the only issue that was addressed during our stay, and many other issues were reported.We had repair people there fixing the deck while we were on vacation. My husband did several minor repairs such as nailing down screws on the stairs and the pier to the beach as we had our 4 young grand children with us, and we didn't want any injuries.The internet was out & had been the week prior to our arrival. We had to triage the issue with Spectrum during our stay. The listing advertises with internet. Broken chairs were stacked in the dining room. Holes in walls because of no door stops. I had to clean the kitchen floor twice upon arrival as it was so sticky & the dishwasher was full of dishes. We sent a list of 20 issues to Kees with pictures and a request to return some of the cost we paid, but have yet to hear from them. If you decide to rent this place bring your cleaning supplies and tool belt. There has got to be places on the ocean front in much better condition for the price.
