Men he location is perfect. Very crntrsl. I got a room on ground level with my own entrance directly from the Main Street which was very convenient. The service level of the staff was very good, like checking in, breakfast and the bar.

We were very lucky because both times we parked at the hotel, we got one of the 2 slots in front of the hotel, so we didn't have to try and find the additional parking lot, but the staff did give us a map to find it. Keep in mind that there is no lift, so depending on your floor you need to carry your bags up. The 23kg bag was not much fun to take up and then down 2 flights of stairs. The food for breakfast was very good whether the cereal/yogurt/fruit or the from the menu. The staff in the breakfast area were really good. The front desk is a little wonky because even the person in the office there isn't as helpful as the front desk clerk who isn't there most of the time, but who is very helpful when you can get them. The WiFi isn't extremely fast, but I was able to work, especially in the library where there was power. It would be nice to have higher chairs with tables other than coffee table height. Even in the room there isn't a desk to work at. We were overall very happy with the stay and the Italian restaurant across the street was perfect for eating early.

Very accommodating and friendly host, nothing was too much trouble. Our dogs were also made to feel very welcome! Bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and warm. Breakfast was amazing, nicest haggis I’ve ever tasted.

Orkney Hotel

The staff were so friendly and accommodating when we checked in. It was quite expensive for a 1 night stay and breakfast in the morning was a shambles. I would have rated this place lower if it wasn't for the staff at check in.

Adequate hotel

One night only. Accommodation was adequate and comfortable. High season, so a bit on the pricy side. Can not comment on food as I arrived late and kitchen was closed already. Location is good for exploring Kirkwall on foot.

A friendly welcome and there was fruit at breakfast which was nice. No warning upfront that our bedroom would be reached by 2 flights of stairs - no lift - so my painful tendon certainly got a workout. Stayed for 3 nights and the menu was the same every night - even the specials.

The hotel was a bit worn. The room was very small, but we expected that. Shower was TINY and had mold in it. The food in the hotel restaurant was AWESOME. Based on the moldy shower I would not stay here again.
