Live Oak Cottage - 'tiny house' / walk to beach

The Live Oak Cottage is a beautiful guest suite situated under sprawling live oak trees. The studio suite and main house was originally a US Coast Guard Lifesaving Station built in 1901 - and moved to its current location in the 60s. The suite has been restored to bring it up to date with modern amenities, while retaining its rustic charm. A full kitchenette, with fridge, plug in cook top, gas grill + more. Sit back and relax on your private deck or walk to the beach in just 5 minutes. Note: this is a tiny house / studio - so it is one room with a king bed, kitchenette with stool seating and a separate full bathroom.

This guest cottage is located behind the main house, A covered parking area connects the main house and the guest cottage so you have your own deck, entry, and privacy. There is a kitchenette, full bathroom with shower, king size bed and a flat screen TV. We have a toaster, Keurig, plug in induction cook top, and all needed cooking utensils, pot and pan. There is a private deck out back for you to relax under the sprawling live oak trees with outdoor shower rinse off, gas grill + seating area.

We live in the main house and are available via text or airbnb message.

Located in Southern Shores and on a quiet street just 5 minutes from the beach.

5 minute walk to the beach, 5 minute drive to the Town of Duck or Kitty Hawk.

We do allow pets with prior approval. Pet fee is $95 per stay ( we allow only one pet). The pet fee is non negotiable, we have pets and want to keep our rentals pet friendly but even the best of pets have more wear and tear than you’d think. The property is situated on a quiet street but does back up to Duck rd. There is a privacy fence but you can hear the cars passing by. We still love the area and privacy this woodsy land provides. ***Outer Banks & Bugs - the outer banks has a variety of wildlife - and palmetto bugs / water bugs are one of them - especially after heavy rains and high humidity - we have all our rentals on monthly pest control treatment but we like to give guests a heads up as sometimes you will see them dead inside***
